Collins Business Unit- HSUNPAC provides global operations from two manufacturing plants in Singapore – Bedok South Road and Changi North Rise.
Our Bedok South plant manufactures advanced technology aerospace components and gears for Hamilton Sundstrand constant speed drives (CSD), integrated drive generators (IDG), engine gearboxes and flap/slat actuation systems. This plant is designated as the Gear Center of Excellence for Collins Aerospace.
Our Changi North plant is designated as the Center of Excellence for Complex Machining. The site produces complex machined components that support the APU business, various housings for electrical power generators and gearboxes, while manufacturing components for air management systems.
This position will support the Senior Manager-Global Trade for HSUNPAC with ensuring that U.S. Government and Singapore global trade policy and procedure requirements are met. Furthermore, this position has operational oversight of classification strategy at HSUNPAC.
Roles and Responsibilities are as follows:
- Supports the Senior Manager for Global Trade at HSUNPAC, and the Associate Director, Global Trade Enterprise Operations, GT with establishing and implementing local operational processes, maintaining relations with relevant leadership teams and authorities, and advising on complex compliance issues. Ensures that the company’s operations comply with Singapore export control laws and has the authority to stop or hold shipments if there are any concerns pertaining to export controls and/or customs.
- Support the development, implementation and maintenance of the internal compliance program within HSUNPAC.
- Support the deployment and monitoring of local operative global trade requirements.
- Responsible for Technology Management operations in HSUNPAC including Jurisdiction / Classification and Harmonized Tariff Classification determinations with the direction of the EO GT Senior Technology Manager.
- Responsible for the classification focal network operation and optimization at HSUNPAC, ensuring classifiers proficiency, classification accuracy and program sustainment, based on continuous risk evaluation.
- Leads Technology Management projects arising out of regulatory and/or policy changes for HSUNPAC and supports the EO GT Senior Technology Manager in strategic projects and/or communications within the APAC region.
- Support the efficient execution of global trade requirements and continuous process improvement.
- Support the compilation and reporting of global trade metrics that capture applicable global trade activity and risk.
- Actively engage with HSUNPAC employees to drive alignment on global trade compliance strategy, processes and tools. This includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing a Global Trade training curriculum for HSUNPAC.
- Supports self-assessments, audits, import compliance, and recordkeeping programs in HSUNPAC.
- Aligns with colleagues from the Enterprise Operations Global Trade team to drive a fully united organization “One Collins”.
- Ideal candidate will also be a certified as a Strategic Goods Control Officer.
Qualification and Requirement:
- Degree in Foreign Trade, or Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or related field. Engineering background has proven to be helpful for the Technology Management responsibility.
- At least 5 years in a Global Trade leading position with experience in interpreting and applying U.S. sanctions and local import/export regulations; in particular, the U.S. EAR / ITAR, the Singapore Strategic Goods Control Regulations, as well as classification and Global Customs compliance
- Dynamic, highly driven, and able to adapt to a fast-paced business environment.
- Excellent people management and leadership skills
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to interact with all levels.
- Strong strategic thinking combined with outstanding tactical execution skills.
- Experience working in a fast paced, matrixed organization
