Job Description
The Role
As the Senior Manager of Finance Operations, you will have direct ownership of a critical team focused on complex reconciliations, automation, and project delivery. You will lead your team of professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, accuracy, and continuous improvement. Your role is to combine expert-level operational oversight with effective people leadership, ensuring your team functions as a Centre of Excellence (CoE) and successfully supports the company's rapid growth.
We are looking for professionals with at least 8 years of ACCA post-qualification experience.
What you will do:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Financial Operations team of 15-20 Associate/Senior associates, setting clear goals, conducting performance reviews, and building a culture of accountability and professional growth.
Define and execute the strategic vision for the team's function, identifying and driving key initiatives for automation, process re-engineering, and scalability to improve efficiency and control within the area.
Take ownership of the team's delivery, including building robust reconciliations. Ensure all accounts are reconciled accurately and on time, and that all breaks are investigated and resolved according to policy. Provide the final review and sign-off on high-risk reconciliations, maintaining the highest standards of financial control.
Lead audit efforts for the team's area of responsibility and act as the primary point of contact for auditors on matters relating to the function, ensuring robust controls are in place and all inquiries are managed effectively.
Establish, monitor, and take full ownership for the delivery of the team's Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), reporting on progress to departmental leadership and ensuring performance is aligned with wider company goals.
Lead the resolution of complex operational and financial escalations, ensuring timely communication and effective problem-solving for critical issues.
Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional and global teams to ensure alignment and support the company's international operations.
Qualifications
A minimum of 12 years of experience in financial operations or accounting, with at least 3-5 years in a direct leadership role managing and developing a large team.
Deep, hands-on experience within the payments or fintech industry.
A confident decision-maker and exceptional communicator with a track record of driving change and developing talent.
Expert-level knowledge of complex reconciliations and a proven ability to lead automation or system implementation projects.
Holds a professional accounting qualification like ACCA, CIMA, or ACA, which is strongly preferred.
Excels at building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders, including auditors, directors and technology partners.
Willingness to undertake limited international travel (approximately 1-2 times per year) for strategic meetings.
