What you’ll be doing…As a member of the Corporate Communications team, the Senior Manager, Financial Communications will focus on media relations and create and drive integrated communications strategies in all Finance related areas, including quarterly earnings, M&A, treasury.
Responsibilities include:
Working with financial communications team colleagues on quarterly earnings, including creation of press releases, messaging, infographics, and social media assets.
Writing disclosure press releases for executive investor conferences, earnings date announcements and quarterly dividend declarations.
Partnering closely with Investor Relations (IR), Legal, Corporate Finance, and Strategy teams to translate complex financial metrics and business drivers into compelling narrative arcs.
Acting as a media contact for financial press, maintaining strong relationships with tier-one business media (WSJ, Bloomberg, CNBC, Reuters, etc.).
Managing proactive and reactive communications strategies around market fluctuations, regulatory filings, and unexpected financial developments.
Collaborating across the Corporate Affairs team to ensure organizational alignment on financial results and overall company strategy.
Aggregating media and social media news, features, mentions and discussions about Verizon, competitors and industry developments.
Developing comprehensive monthly and quarterly media and analyst reports.
Creating post copy for LinkedIn handles of CFO and Head of IR.
Participating in maintenance of Wikipedia pages.
Assisting in preparing materials for the annual report and annual shareholder meeting.
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
Corporate or financial communications experience.
Direct experience working with C-level executives and advising senior leaders on high-profile announcements.
Knowledge of financial markets, corporate finance concepts, SEC disclosure norms, and the earnings calendar cycle.
Experience with and/or willingness to learn to utilize AI tools.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Experience in a large, publicly traded telecommunications, media, or tech enterprise.
Agency and in-house corporate communications hybrid experience.
Proven track record of managing crisis or sensitive M&A communications under tight deadlines.
Strong presence with the ability to lead tough conversations, navigate complex organizations and influence decision making
Proven track record of developing and implementing integrated communications plans beyond traditional public relations.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $115,500.00 - $201,000.00.Skills Required
