ROLE SUMMARY
As Experience Design, Senior Manager, within Pfizer Digital's Customer Experience (CX) Design team, you will have responsibility for leading the design of key strategic digital experiences, shaping the growth and development of the CX Design team's talent and capabilities, and ensuring that design and experience continue to become a strategic and integral aspect of all digital activities.
You will help steer strategic thinking for bringing industry leading experiences to market, while continue to define world-class experiences through hands-on craftwork. As part of our dynamic team, you will fuse creative envisioning together with data-informed decision making and pragmatic get-to-market development. You will be a key subject matter expert on design thinking, UI and UX design, product design methodologies, and design systems, in order to optimize the scale of CX in our Digital organization and, most importantly, create positive impacts on our colleagues and customers.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
As a lead member of the CX Design team within Pfizer Digital's Customer Experience & Engagement organization, you have an important role in steering the future of all digital experiences delivered by Pfizer. You will have responsibility to understand the needs of our vast range of users, and articulate design vision and relevant design activities to the teams responsible for bringing our products to market.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic, multi-stream design initiatives through all phases of the design process, as well lead teams of Experience Designers, to get Pfizer products and experiences to market efficiently and effectively.
  • Lead designers and participate in "hands-on" experience design and design production needs for respective initiatives.
  • Act as a key driver in moving digital initiatives through the product development lifecycle (PDL) - from initiation through to release - by actively and competently collaborating with cross-functional business, technology, marketing, and 3rd-party partners.
  • Define user testing needs and develop plan for executing them in the PDL.
  • Work together with senior leaders of CX Design to evolve our capabilities, methodologies, workflows and toolsets, integrate them in digital program operations and initiatives.
  • Promote excellence in design and experience in all activities, with emphasis on designing for outcomes, accessibility, and delight.
  • Engage and influence colleagues at all levels up to and including VPs as needed
  • Contribute to the strategy, direction, and development of our design system, as well as ensuring the utilization of our design system into project initiatives and identifying enhancement opportunities.
  • Act as a critical eye, coach, and mentor for members of the CX Design team.
  • Actively engage in and contribute CX Design team knowledge and cultural activities
  • Be a passionate advocate for design and human-centeredness in Pfizer
  • Identify opportunities to showcase Pfizer's design capabilities to the larger Pfizer audience
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Design during meetings with customers and business partners


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors in the design, arts, technology related fields or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of professional experience as an Experience or Product Design lead
  • Strong understanding of and enthusiasm for user centered design principles.
  • Expertise with Figma, prototyping tools, and other design tools
  • In depth knowledge of Responsive web, iOS, Material design, and Hybrid standards
  • Knowledge of and experience applying user testing methods
  • Ability to execute an appropriate assessment of technology in the competitive landscape
  • Ability to conduct user research and testing with a variety of techniques
  • Ability to think critically; to recognize and anticipate a problem (technical, operational, process, organizational) and to identify and implement or communicate the best solution in a timely manner.
  • Superior communication skills
  • Demonstrated effective organization and time management
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under aggressive schedules
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to function in a dynamic work environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree
  • Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Management consulting experience
  • 5+ years managing processes and procedures with user centered design
  • Superior communication skills


PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Coordination with other Pfizer Digital staff to leverage shared services.
  • Strong analytical and writing skills paired with a background in application development, application or systems management.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal technical staff, management and vendors
  • Able to balance multiple project initiatives
  • Generation of appropriate documentation: project plans, requirements and design documents, use cases, storyboards
  • Demonstrated effective organization and time management
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under aggressive schedules
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Ability to function in a dynamic work environment


NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • Up to 25% local travel required, if applicable
  • National and International travel may be necessary
