- Lead the event & field marketing function and manage our own internal events from conception to execution
- Manage a team of event and field marketing managers, providing career development and team building, while putting an execution model in place for repeatable success
- Be a partner to the the marketing leadership team and translate strategic direction into effective field marketing engagements that support pipeline growth
- Manage a budget and make investment decisions for the global field marketing function and be on top of ROI from those investments. Report progress at a regular cadence to stakeholders
- Partner closely with GTM teams to identify the right events to attend or put on to build and accelerate demand generation pipelines with our ICP and key personas.
- Work hand in hand with the PMM and Content teams on messaging, talk tracks and presentations, as well as work internally to identify speakers and staff for each event
- Extend the Retool brand presence in tasteful ways for different formats like executive dinners, roadshows, product launch events, and user conferences.
- Create highly visible experiential projects that rely on multiple vendors and internal stakeholders
- Work with our GTM and revenue operations teams to track the effectiveness of our events, ROI and lead quality, and use data to inform future decisions
- 5+ years of field marketing experience with a B2B or tech startup
- 4+ years of leading the field marketing function
- 5+ years experience planning and executing hosted and sponsored events
- Strategic and cross-functional mentality with excellent attention to details and the ability to grasp the bigger picture
- Excellent project management skills, with an uncanny ability to keeping multiple work streams, partners and vendors in sync around timelines
- The ability to span events built for awareness (reaching new ICP accounts in tasteful ways) and demand (partnering with GTM teams on building and accelerating pipeline).
- Strong familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce or similar), marketing automation tools (e.g., HubSpot or similar), and tracking tools to assess campaign effectiveness
- Strong sense of curiosity and first principles thinking—bring your intuition, but leave behind any playbooks
- The ability to build strong cross-functional relationships to both GTM and product teams, as well as with our brand design teams and the rest of the marketing org
- Excellent written and verbal communication chops
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%
