Seismic AI:
AI is one of the fastest growing product areas in Seismic. We believe that AI, particularly Generative AI, will empower and transform how Enterprise sales and marketing organizations operate and interact with customers. Seismic Aura, our leading AI engine, is powering this change in the sales enablement space and is being infused across the Seismic enablement cloud. Our focus is to leverage AI across the Seismic platform to make our customers more productive and efficient in their day-to-day tasks, and to drive more successful sales outcomes.
Position Overview:
As a Senior Manager for AI and Software Engineering, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing a team of talented engineers to develop and optimize solutions that power our web application, including search, content discovery, and AI capabilities. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems that deliver exceptional value to our customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our company's growth and success by combining technical leadership and team management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning. Provide performance feedback, career development, and technical guidance to team members.
- Technology and Architecture Development: Define and drive the AI and software technology and architectural directions, ensuring alignment with business goals and product roadmaps.
- AI and Search Use Case Development: Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and Software Engineers to build AI or search solutions, assessing tradeoffs and evaluating options to deliver high-quality and high-value solutions.
- Integration: Lead the integration of AI and search capabilities across the Seismic platform, including data foundation, conversational intelligence, video analysis, content management, and discovery systems.
- Technical Leadership: Provide strong technical leadership to the data science and engineering teams. Stay abreast of the latest trends and techniques in AI and software development, conduct research and experimentation to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge.
- Product Innovation: Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven and backend enhancements and collaborate on product roadmap development.
- Performance Optimization: Define and analyze key metrics to measure the success of AI and product initiatives, ensuring high-quality, high-performance, scalable, and reliable solutions.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with senior leadership, product teams, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency on project goals and progress.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on backend systems and AI, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
- Technical Expertise: Experience with backend development using languages such as C# and .NET, unit testing, object-oriented programming, and relational databases. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.), event-driven architectures with tools like Kafka, and feature management (Launch Darkly) is good to have. Front-end/full-stack experience is a plus.
- AI and Search Expertise: Prefer expertise in search platforms like Elasticsearch, Apache Solr, or similar. Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP), semantic search, and understanding of text processing techniques. Proficiency in building and deploying Generative AI use cases.
- Cloud Expertise: Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure. Knowledge of cloud-native services for AI/ML, data storage, and processing. Experience deploying containerized applications into Kubernetes is a plus.
- SaaS Knowledge: Extensive experience in SaaS application development and cloud technologies, with a deep understanding of modern distributed system and cloud operational infrastructure.
- Product Development: Experience in collaborating with product management and design, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions that drive successful delivery. Proven record of driving feature development from concept to launch.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve their full potential.
- Strategic Mindset: Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a strategic mindset and the ability to develop a strong point of view and drive vision forward.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Fast-paced Environment: Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably in a SaaS or technology-driven company.
