Overview & Responsibilities
Purpose of the Job:
- The Manager of Engineered Solutions establishes, manages and directs all aspects of the company’s strategic plan of rerate and modifications for Elliott and non -Elliott compressors, expanders, steam turbines and cryogenic pumps. This position will establish market direction, control the operations required to achieve the plan, implements the product and working initiatives generated by Business Development under the direction of the VP of GS.
- This position is crucial to the driving force to extend the company’s rerate activities into competitors ’ installed fleets. This position will create a center of technical competence to support the rerate activity as well as repair and field service activity throughout the world on Elliott and non-Elliott products.
- The incumbent is responsible for upholding safety and ethical business practices within the organization and to report any discrepancies in company and governmental policies and laws.
Background and Experience:
- Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent field.
- A minimum of 10+ years’ supervisory experience.
- Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in rotating equipment, focused in marketing, sales and engineering.
- P&L management experience is a strong plus.
- The ability to provide overall direction as well as strategy planning and marketing abilities are essential.
- The position requires the incumbent to have or develop and sustain strong working relationships with internal customers, as well as, end users.

Nature of the Job:
- Development and implementation and management of strategic operational plans both for short and long -term performance that meet the mission and goals as established.
- Direct the timely flow of information between the field sales and Rerate personnel in terms of project timing to allow for proper headcount, manufacturing capacity and outsourcing requirements.
- Approve and development of monthly and yearly plans and budget requirements. Monitor and report progress of both to senior management.
- Coach and foster team atmosphere within the group and to insure timely and accurate communication and execution with other departments.
- Administer and approve company policy in terms of margin, lead time and risk.
- Provide selling tools to the sales force.
- Provides leadership and direction internal and external resources to ensure on time shipment and actual margins meeting or exceeding booking margins.
- Extend rerate and modification activity to selected competitors fleets.
Contact with Others:
- Day to day contact with both internal customers (EEE personnel) and external customers. Internally this would include sales, marketing, engineering, PCA, project management, SCM, manufacturing and senior management.
- Externally with key customer management, technical leads, economic buyers and operational leads around the world.
- Must have the ability to communicate with all levels of a customer 's organization, from plant personnel to senior management.
- Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30% of the time.
- Participation in industry trade shows, API functions and others as deemed necessary.
Supervision:
- This position is managerial in nature and requires the supervision of other managers, supervisors, and their direct reports.
- Responsibility includes hiring, discipline, coaching, discharge, performance appraisals and approval of such, as well as salary planning.
- Vision casting, communication and motivation of critical skill sets.
- Conducting training and developing training plans for all members and to periodically check to maintain timeliness of the plans.
Specific Job Responsibilities/Competencies:
- Administer company policies and guidelines as applicable to the rerate services team.
- Act as a leader and coach to foster continuous improvement throughout the Rerate Services team and all of the Elliott group.
- Ensure that communication between internal and external customers is timely and thorough.
- Manage risk in the group by taking the responsibility that all departments are aware and have bought into any pricing and delivery commitments made.
- Assist in the generation of the monthly and yearly budgets and forecasts and demonstrate ownership of plan and forecast action items.
- Ensure that the EEE's strategic plan is implemented as it pertains to Rerate Services.
- Maintain proper staffing levels, while providing the necessary training for members of the team.
- Identify and report market conditions and opportunity areas for EEE products and services.
- Participate in trade shows and organizations that benefit the growth and name of EEE.
- Control projects to ensure on-time shipments.
- Implement process metrics to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of cycle times, handoffs, and other key performance measurements.
- Responsible for talent management of department; attract, develop, motivate, redirect and coach employees
- Tackle problems and issues expeditiously and employ RCFA methodology towards resolution.
