The RoleWe are creating a strategic, centralized employee relations function at CCC.
The Senior Manager, Employee Relations will design and lead CCC’s centralized employee relations strategy, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant practices across the organization. This role provides both strategic guidance and hands-on support in resolving complex workplace issues, driving proactive employee relations initiatives, and leveraging data insights to enhance decision-making. The position oversees a small team (Employee Relations Specialist and Leave Specialist) and partners closely with leaders and HR teams to foster a positive and legally compliant work environment. No travel is required.


 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement CCC’s centralized employee relations framework, policies and practices.
  • Engages with key stakeholders, secures alignment, creates and manages project plans to address legal changes.   
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to HR Field, COE, business leaders and employees on employee relations matters, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
  • Utilizes data and reporting to establish and analyze key metrics to identify trends and opportunities to enhance processes, programs, and tools. Partners with People and Culture team and HR Field to identify manager training or cultural interventions based on the data.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and address HR needs and challenges, and provide innovative solutions to drive organizational excellence
  • Oversee and conduct investigations into complex employee relations issues, ensuring timely, thorough, and impartial resolution, including Ethics Point, CCC’s anonymous portal for employee complaints and concerns.
  • Develops and maintains HR policies, procedures, and programs to align with legal requirements while promoting a positive work culture
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable Federal, state, county, and city employment laws, regulations, and internal policies and assess impact on CCC’s policies and programs
  • Partner with Legal and HR teams to mitigate risk and maintain compliance across all employee relations activities.
  • Manage and develop a team of two specialists (Employee Relations Specialist and Leave Specialist), fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Provides subject matter expertise, support and direction to the HR business partners in the management of performance improvement plans in a matrixed environment. May manage performance improvement directly with line managers depending on resource availability.
  • Consults with HRBPs to ensure a consistent approach when employees are impacted by reorganizations; ensures compliance with all internal and external policies and laws.
  • Act as a role model for CCC's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment for all employees.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and best practices in HR and proactively identifies areas for improvement.
  • Provides exit interview analysis and recommendations based on existing metrics. May conduct exit interviews to gain additional insights.
  • Provides training on various employee-related topics to ensure adherence to compliance policies


 

Requirements:
  • BA or BS degree
  • 8- 10 years’ work experience; at least 5 years complex employee relations experience with emphasis on conflict resolution and investigations
  • Minimum 3 years in a leadership role managing employee relations or HR Teams
  • HR Business Partner experience preferred

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience with the interpretation of complex legislation to ensure legal compliance and alignment with organizational programs and policies
  • Deep knowledge of EEO, FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation, ERISA, and investigative claims processes
  • Demonstrated project management experience requiring cross-functional alignment and collaboration
  • Current with HR industry trends and best practices; knowledge-seeker and critical thinker who has applied learnings to prior roles
  • Demonstrated experience with constructive conflict management, resolution, and analysis
  • Understands change management methodologies and have applied them to programs and projects
  • Has operated with a continuous improvement mindset resulting in increased efficiency and effectiveness in prior roles
  • Excellent problem solving and facilitation skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to influence across all levels
  • High emotional intelligence
