We’re seeking an experienced email marketing director to lead our email marketing function, as part of our growth marketing team at Brandwatch and Cision.
Working with three direct reports, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing our email marketing strategy to drive engagement with our brand, nurture leads, and ultimately contribute to revenue growth for Brandwatch and Cision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the strategic execution of email marketing across the business, aligned with our overall marketing goals and objectives.
- Manage a busy schedule of activities, supporting initiatives globally and working with colleagues in our field, product, brand, customer, and growth marketing teams.
- Create compelling and engaging email content for a range of audiences and campaigns, including for lead generation and nurture, and customer expansion and retention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and effective initiatives.
- Manage and maintain email marketing campaigns, segmentation, and automation workflows using our email marketing platform. Experience with Marketo, Eloqua, or platform equivalent is a must. A strong understanding of marketing automation and the marketing funnel is essential.
- Analyze email campaign performance metrics and conversion rates, providing regular reports and actionable insights.
- Continuously optimize email campaigns based on A/B testing, data analysis, and industry best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest email marketing trends, techniques, and tools to ensure our campaigns remain effective and compliant.
- Ensure adherence to anti-spam laws, data privacy regulations, and email marketing best practices.
- Line management responsibilities for three email marketing specialists.
Our Ideal Candidate Has:
- 6-years of marketing experience ideally in B2B email marketing, demand generation, or a related role – we’re looking for someone with relevant professional experience who can use their initiative and take ownership of projects from the off.
- Outstanding copywriting skills with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive copy, putting yourself in the shoes of different target audiences.
- Exceptional attention to detail, project management, and organization skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic business across a variety of projects at once.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, proactive in stakeholder/project management, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of an organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience interpreting data and optimizing campaigns based on insights.
- Knowledge of marketing automation and email marketing tools (e.g., Marketo, Eloqua or equivalent).
- Knowledge of email marketing best practices, including segmentation, automation, and deliverability.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and anti-spam laws.
- Experience in B2B demand generation and/or SaaS marketing is desired.
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and optimization techniques.
- Creative, outcome-focused mindset and a passion for developing innovative and engaging email content that delivers results.
- An additional language is not essential but is a plus since you will be helping to QA and support campaigns across other regions – in addition to English-speaking regions (French, Spanish, German, or Italian language skills would be desirable).
