Clockwork.io – A Software-Driven Revolution in AI Networking

Clockwork Systems was founded by Stanford researchers and veteran systems engineers who share a vision for redefining the foundations of distributed computing. As AI workloads grow increasingly complex, traditional infrastructure struggles to meet the demands of performance, reliability, and precise coordination. Clockwork is pioneering a software-driven approach to AI networking, delivering deterministic time, ultra-low latency, and seamless scalability for modern distributed systems.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on, strategic, and execution-driven Senior Manager or Director of Field Marketing to lead Clockwork’s physical and virtual event marketing programs — from concept to completion.

This role requires a self-starter who leads by doing, but also a collaborative team player who thrives in partnership. You’ll report directly to our Head of Marketing, working closely with her and collaborating across Sales, Growth, and Executive teams to create world-class, revenue-driving event experiences that elevate our brand and accelerate growth.

You’ll balance creativity with operational rigor, and strategic vision with executional excellence — equally comfortable mapping multi-month campaign plans or producing high-quality events on tight timelines. You’ll bring the agility of a startup builder and the process maturity of a scaling leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute Clockwork’s field marketing strategy across in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats — including tradeshows, conferences, partner events, and executive experiences.
  • Plan and deliver high-impact events that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and measurable pipeline growth.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Marketing, Sales, and Executives to align event strategy with GTM priorities and revenue objectives.
  • Be hands-on and proactive — from vendor management and logistics to booth design, campaign coordination, and on-site execution.
  • Develop scalable event frameworks and playbooks to support Clockwork’s expansion into new markets and global audiences.
  • Design audience acquisition strategies to attract high-value prospects and customers to both physical and virtual experiences.
  • Track, analyze, and report event performance, including lead quality, engagement metrics, and ROI.
  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring every dollar spent maximizes impact and brand excellence.
  • Champion collaboration and communication, keeping internal stakeholders informed, aligned, and inspired.
Who You Are
  • 7+ years of experience in field marketing within B2B technology — ideally combining early-stage startup experience with exposure to a scaled or public company environment.
  • Proven success scaling growth and executing high-performing event programs for recognized technology brands.
  • Deep expertise across virtual, hybrid, and in-person event management, from trade shows to executive roundtables.
  • Strong understanding of demand generation, audience engagement, and event ROI measurement.
  • self-starter who can operate independently with little direction, but also thrives as a collaborative team player who values alignment and communication.
  • Highly organized and adaptable — equally skilled in fast-turn activations and long-term, strategic event planning.
  • Strong brand sensibility — knows how to deliver premium, high-impact experiences while operating efficiently.
  • Willing to work onsite in Palo Alto, CA (2–3 days per week) and travel domestically ~4-5 times per year.
Bonus Points
  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence, infrastructure, or open-source ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with developer and technical audiences.
  • Background in enterprise SaaS or growth-stage technology companies.

What We Do

Founded in 2018 by a team from Stanford University, Clockwork's technology enables time-sensitive applications in areas such as financial trading, high-tech, and online gaming. Being software-based, its solutions can run anywhere: in on-premises data centers, public clouds, or hybrid environments. Taking aim at the 'clockless architecture' prevalent in distributed systems and networks, Clockwork.io aims to redefine a large part of the way these technologies (which underlie the cloud) are currently practiced.
