Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
To lead Bayobab Group's HR digital transformation agenda by designing, implementing, and optimising HR technology, automation, AI-enabled solutions, workforce analytics, and reporting capabilities that improve employee experience, enhance operational efficiency, strengthen governance, and enable data-driven people decisions across the Bayobab footprint. This includes ownership of HR systems, automation initiatives, AI adoption, workforce reporting, dashboarding, data quality, and digital employee experience programmes. This purpose reflects Bayobab's strategic direction towards HR automation, AI initiatives, Copilot adoption, workflow digitisation, enhanced reporting, and lean HR operating models.
Responsibilities
Key Performance Areas: Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)
1. HR Digitisation & Technology Strategy
• Develop and execute the Bayobab HR Digitisation Strategy and roadmap.
• Drive continuous enhancement of Oracle HCM, Sage Payroll, ServiceNow and related HR technologies.
• Lead the evaluation and implementation of new HR platforms and digital solutions.
• Standardise HR processes through technology-enabled workflows.
• Partner with IT, Digital and Group HR teams on enterprise HR technology initiatives.
• Govern HR systems architecture and integration requirements.
2. Automation & Artificial Intelligence
• Identify and prioritise HR processes suitable for automation.
• Lead deployment of HR workflow automation using Power Automate, AI tools and other approved technologies.
• Drive adoption of HR AI solutions including Copilot and HR virtual assistants.
• Establish a Bayobab HR Automation Centre of Excellence.
• Quantify efficiency gains and ROI from automation initiatives.
• Develop AI governance standards for HR processes.
3. HR Data, Reporting & Workforce Analytics
• Own the HR reporting framework across Bayobab Group.
• Develop executive dashboards and people analytics solutions.
• Produce predictive workforce insights supporting business decision-making.
• Automate recurring HR reporting processes.
• Establish a single source of truth for HR data and KPIs.
• Ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy across all entities.
• Lead workforce analytics relating to: Headcount -Attrition – Diversity - Talent pipelines - Workforce planning – Productivity - Employee experience metrics
4. Employee Experience & Digital HR Services
• Design and implement digital employee journeys.
• Improve employee access to HR services through self-service solutions.
• Enhance onboarding, mobility, learning and employee lifecycle experiences.
• Reduce manual interventions and turnaround times in HR processes.
• Introduce digital-first HR service delivery models.
5. Governance, Data Quality & Compliance
• Establish HR data governance standards.
• Lead HR master data quality initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with MTN Group and local market requirements.
• Own HR reporting controls and audit readiness.
• Manage system security, access controls and segregation of duties.
6. Leadership & Capability Building
• Build digital and AI capability within HR teams.
• Lead the Bayobab HR Copilot Community of Practice.
• Coach HR teams on automation and data-driven decision-making.
• Promote continuous innovation across HR functions.
• Develop a culture of experimentation and digital transformation.
7. Strategy Development and Implementation as FibreCos HRBP
• Cascade the HR strategy to FibreCo Opcos aligned with the overarching business goals, under oversight of Bayobab Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
• Oversee regular review of the HR strategy and roadmap, under oversight of the CHRO, to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem
• Collaborate with Opco HR teams to ensure smooth and seamless transition to the FibreCo entity regarding impacted employees
• Ensure transition of people and HR go-live activities are completed in line with the overall project timelines
• Oversee onboarding of transitions/transferred employees to the new FibreCo entity
• Ensure effective implementation of HR policies in the FibreCo Opcos, ensuring that all Opcos comply with the set policies
• Where applicable provide advisory support to ensure regional employment and labour guidelines, laws and regulations are duly complied with
• Provide guidance and support to FibreCo Opco HR teams and liaise with Bayobab HR team internally
• Engage with Bayobab FibreCo business unit where required to support FibreCo Opco HR teams

Education
- Bachelor's degree in human resources management, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or Management Information Systems.
- MBA or Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resources is advantageous
- Fluent in English
Experience
- 5+ years managerial experience in Human Resources leading HR Systems, HR Technology, Analytics, Automation or Digital Transformation initiatives
- Deep Knowledge in HR Technology: Oracle HCM - Payroll systems (Sage preferred) - HR portals and employee self-service platforms - Workflow management tools - IT Service Management platforms
- Experience working in a global/multinational enterprise with a good understanding emerging markets across diverse culture and geographies.
