Position Overview 

The Senior Manager, Development is responsible for managing the development of projects within Cordelio’s portfolio, with a primary focus on wind and solar located in NY and PJM.
Reporting to the Vice President, Development, this role is best suited for a person with a strong track record in wind and/or solar development looking to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
 
This role is available to eligible US based candidates with in-office or remote accommodations. 

Responsibilities 

  • Create and execute project development plans to meet project objectives, including cost, schedule, and resource requirements. 
  • Lead, manage or coordinate, while providing regular reporting and recommendations for all aspects of project development including:
    • Land acquisition and title curative work. 
    • Local, state and federal permitting.
    • Commercial and technical aspects of project interconnection.
    • Environmental assessments.
    • Stakeholder consultation and management.
    • Off-take origination and power marketing.
    • Project technical design and infrastructure siting.
    • Energy and technical assessments.
  • Lead greenfield land campaigns, including organizing and managing land agents.
  • Regular meetings with landowners, local stakeholders and establishing Cordelio’s presence in the community. 
  • Oversee development work performed by joint venture and partner developers. 
  • Identify or originate new growth opportunities, including targeted areas for greenfield development.
  • Perform and lead due diligence review of prospective wind and solar asset acquisitions. 
  • Represent Cordelio at industry association meetings and events and track relevant industry led policy initiatives.
  • Support project finance, offtake RFP and permitting submissions.

Skills & Requirements 

  • Strong track record (3+ years) of successful development of US based wind and/or solar projects in various markets, with a preference for experience in wind and solar development in NY and PJM. 
  • Strong personnel management skills with proven ability to work well in teams. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate (by phone, in writing, in person and during public meetings) with landowners, community organizations, public officials, and other key stakeholders to build project support and represent Cordelio Power.
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team, under pressure and with time sensitive deadlines. 

Additional Success Factors

  • Experience managing and interacting with remote and/or indirect internal and external resources, including consultants and contractors. 
  • Possesses self-starter qualities with the ability to work independently with minimal direction and time sensitive deadlines. 
  • Ability to prioritize several concurrent tasks in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and ability to scale and take on increasing responsibility as Cordelio grows. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated impact in previous roles. 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office applications including PowerPoint, Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Project.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license.


​​​​Travel Requirements

  • Up to 50% primarily domestically (U.S. and Canada). Includes travel to remote project locations, contractor offices/facilities, company offices and events, and technical conferences.

Location

  • This position offers the opportunity for remote work from various locations with preference for candidates located in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois West Virginia or those willing to relocate to these states.

Compensation & Benefits 

  • The compensation range for this position is USD $140,000 to $180,000 per year. Exact compensation will be determined by Cordelio and depends upon experience.
