About the role:
As Senior Manager, Data Science, you will lead a growing team of data scientists and help shape high-impact data and AI products across Redcare Pharmacy. You will combine strong people leadership with hands-on data science and machine learning expertise, enabling your team to turn complex business challenges into reliable, measurable solutions.
A central focus of the role is supporting our product teams, including our demand forecasting and replenishment product and our retail media product. You will work closely with Product Managers, Tech Leads, and cross-functional contributors to provide direction, create alignment, remove obstacles, and ensure robust data science practices. You will also help advance experimentation and measurement across Data & AI, supporting teams in making well-founded product decisions.

About your tasks:
- Lead, develop, and enable a growing Data Science team of internal and external colleagues, creating clarity on priorities, supporting their professional development, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing environment.
- Act as a hands-on technical sparring partner for your team and stakeholders on data science, machine learning, and model evaluation—balancing business needs with analytical rigor and scalable implementation.
- Strengthen experimentation and measurement practices across Data & AI, advising product teams on A/B testing, success metrics, statistical methodology, power analyses, and the interpretation of experimental results.
- Collaborate closely with fellow Data & AI leaders to shape team priorities, share expertise, build complementary capabilities, and raise the overall technical standard of the organisation.
- Contribute to the growth of the team through hiring and onboarding, with the opportunity to build out the Data Science function further.
About you:
- You bring several years of experience in applied Data Science and Machine Learning, including delivering data science or ML products in production environments.
- You have proven experience in people management and enjoy enabling colleagues with different levels of seniority to do their best work.
- Experience with experimentation, A/B testing, causal measurement, or power analysis.
- You combine a strategic perspective with a willingness to stay hands-on, acting as a credible technical partner on modelling, evaluation, data quality, and machine learning practices.
- You have strong expertise in Python, SQL, statistical modelling, and large-scale data processing.
- You are comfortable working in a cross-functional product environment and partnering closely with Product Managers, Tech Leads, Engineers, and other Data & AI leaders.
- You communicate clearly and confidently in English. German language skills are a plus, but not required.
- Experience with demand forecasting, replenishment, retail, sponsored ads, e-commerce, or similarly complex operational data science products is a plus.

Skills Required
- Several years of experience in applied Data Science and Machine Learning
