As the Senior Manager, Data Platform and Feedonomics Platform you are responsible for Managing the enterprise data integration effort across BC (BigCommerce) business units that have been acquired through Mergers and Acquisitions, you will lead a team of data engineers as a player/coach, planning and driving the roadmap for integrating corporate data across BC business units. As a coach, you will be responsible for communicating a timeline and building a roadmap for integrating intake & requirements processes as well as technical architecture. You bring industry expertise, best practices in data management and deep interpersonal plus communication skills that you leverage to mentor highly skilled developers and collaborate effectively with business leaders, analysts, and operators.
As a player, you have hands-on leadership experience in data warehousing, administration and business intelligence and will use that experience to write detailed technical requirements and designs and build out critical paths and identify dependencies and blockers. You will take on coding responsibilities around ETL and data transformation and perform code reviews and approvals for the team. You have experience with data architecture and modeling that you can both implement independently whilst training your team in best practices.
What You’ll Do
This role will be instrumental in ensuring access to clean, consistent and logical enterprise-wide data to stakeholders in a wide variety of roles. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
- Become an expert in Feedonomics and BigC Holdings GTM strategies and internal/external financial metrics across all business units in order to drive the design and implementation of consolidated corporate views of BigC Holdings Consolidated business metrics.
- Draw on deep experience with data management and analysis to identify improvements and increase efficiency, reliability, and usability of data across the organization
- Participate and become familiar with the Global Intake Project process in order to begin integrating the Feedonomics data teams into the process.
- Provide thought leadership and communication to business leaders on the integration road map.
- Partner closely with business leaders + Analytics and Data Solutions teams to produce highly governed and robust data sets that lead to positive change in the business
- Engage with analysts and data stewards throughout the organization to understand common data requests and key metrics. Define and document the underlying metrics and design robust infrastructure (ETLs, table structures, metadata) to enable consistent reporting on those metrics throughout the organization.
- Architect and maintain dimensional data models, algorithms and related business and financial reporting logic within the data warehouse.
- Transform low-value datasets into highly structured and consistent datasets for use by analysts and reporting tools
- Work closely with data engineers, business system administrators, and operational leaders to identify source system gaps in data collection and connectivity to ensure reliable data measurement capabilities
- Develop scalable, efficient, and automated processes and data pipelines, in addition to diagnosing and debugging problems with existing structures
- Recruit, lead, manage, motivate, and coach team members to maximize their individual potential, contributions and professional growth
Who You Are
- 8+ years of technology experience are required, with 4 or more years of hands-on technical experience in data warehousing and business intelligence
- 4+ years of management of data warehouse developers.
- Advanced SQL and Python skills are required.
- Experience with cloud OLAP database platforms such as Snowflake and Redshift.
- Advanced data visualization experience, Tableau preferred.
- A broad exposure to business applications like CRM tools, financial reporting systems, marketing automation tools, etc
- Experience in dimensional data modeling, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud or Linux command line a plus
- Experience measuring subscription/SaaS business models and related metrics
- Familiarity with ETL\ELT processes and common data transformation techniques (e.g. normalization and denormalization, string parsing, primary key generation)
- Experience pulling data from an API using Python and Airflow (or similar technology).
- Scripting skills in 1 or 2 languages (BASH/Python/JavaScript/PHP/VBA/etc)
- Possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (economics, statistics, business, computer science) or equivalent experience, advanced degree a plus
- Able to deal with ambiguity and problem-solve independently
- Lead projects independently with cross functional business stakeholders.

Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range (or have the minimum apply to them), but rather, the exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s location, relevant knowledge, skills, and qualifications.

$129,200—$226,800 USD
