We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager, Corporate Strategy, to join Thermo Fisher Scientific in Shanghai. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction of our China business by leading high-impact strategy initiatives that drive long-term growth and value creation.
The successful candidate will partner closely with China leadership to identify growth opportunities, assess market and competitive dynamics, and help define the company’s short-, medium-, and long-term growth strategy. The role requires strong strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and business acumen, with responsibilities spanning market analysis, financial modeling, problem solving, and strategic planning.
Success in this role requires the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights, influence decision-making across a matrixed organization, and effectively engage senior stakeholders at both the China and global levels.

Responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of China’s growth strategy, ensuring alignment with global corporate and divisional priorities
Generate actionable market, customer, and competitive insights to inform strategic decision-making and investment allocation
Translate strategic priorities into executable plans with clear milestones, governance mechanisms, and performance tracking frameworks
Analyze market dynamics, financial performance, and business trends to identify growth opportunities and provide data-driven recommendations
Drive alignment and coordination between China, regional, and global strategy teams to ensure consistent execution of strategic initiatives
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders across a complex, matrixed organization
Partner with Corporate Development and Business Development teams to evaluate and execute inorganic growth opportunities
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
Strong academic background, with preference given to those with relevant scientific degree in Biochemistry, Life sciences, Medical Sciences etc. or an advanced degree such as MBA or PhD
8+ years of relevant experience in corporate strategy or business develop role including 4+ years of experience in a strategy consulting firm with relevant project experiences (including life science tools, bioprocessing, analytical instruments, CRO/CDMO, drug discovery, or research and development)
Strong analytical and technical skills to evaluate business opportunities and make informed recommendations and decisions
Experience working with senior stakeholders and translating complex business issues into clear, actionable recommendations
Adaptable to large complex organizations and effective in team-working across divisions and functions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in both Chinese and English
Proficiencies:
