Job Overview:
Reporting to the Project Director, the Senior Manager Contracts will be the focal point for contractual and commercial issues encountered during the execution phase of a large-scale LNG EPC Project. The role is intended for a senior manager-level Contract Manager, reflecting the scale, complexity and strategic importance of this potential mega LNG project.
The project involves complex relationships across the client, JV partners, subcontractors, suppliers and internal McDermott stakeholders. The Senior Manager Contracts will provide leadership across contract strategy, change management, claims, notices, correspondence, commercial risk management, dispute avoidance and close-out.

- Contract negotiations with customers/clients
- Coordinate with Contracts Director/Senior Contracts Director on workloads and resources
- Ensure Contracts & Senior Contracts Specialists coordinate appropriate activities
- Own and lead the implementation, enforcement, and verification of compliance with all McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure employees understand their responsibility and authority to effectively implement the requirements of all McDermott policies and procedures
- Ensure the timely completion of all mandatory training by themselves and their teams
- Protect McDermott’s contractual and commercial interests within a complex EPC and JV/consortium environment.
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous refinement of the project contractual/commercial strategy.
- Ensure contract obligations, rights, risks and opportunities are understood and actively managed by the project team.
- Drive disciplined change identification, substantiation, notification, negotiation and resolution with the client and relevant stakeholders.
- Provide senior-level contractual leadership to support project delivery, revenue maximisation, risk mitigation and dispute avoidance.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as Engineering, legal, Commercial, or Quantity Surveying and 10 years of Contracts Management experience in addition to other functional experience with at least 5 years of management experience
- Proven experience in contract management within the Engineering Procurement Construction and Installation (EPC/EPCI) industry, in the areas of Energy Transition, Onshore, or Offshore or Subsea and Floating Facilities (FPSO/FPU)
- In-depth knowledge of EPC/EPCI project lifecycles, including design, procurement, construction, and installation phases
- Can build rapport with and gain respect from employees with varied experience and background
- Familiarity with industry-specific terminologies, contracts, and standards
- Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving mutually beneficial outcomes
- Ability to analyze complex contract requirements and identify potential risks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders
- Proficient in using contract management software and MS Office Suite
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and meet tight deadlines
