Purpose
The Senior Manager, Content Strategy oversees the omnichannel content strategy narrative, aligning it with Floor & Decor initiatives, brands, and product goals. This person plays a key role in building brand awareness and consideration, crafting a seamless and cohesive customer experience, and driving revenue. They will lead a talented team of content managers and copywriters, ensuring our messaging is consistent and impactful across all digital and print channels. The Senior Manager, Content Strategy analyzes content performance metrics and insights, refining our strategies to maximize content effectiveness. They stay informed about the latest trends, understand consumer behavior, and leverage advancements in technology to create content that not only informs but also engages and inspires our diverse customer base to take action. It is their responsibility to ensure our content strategy is not only current but also forward-thinking and integrated across the entire business ecosystem. This approach ensures that our brand narrative resonates deeply with our audience, fostering a connection that translates into tangible business results. With a keen eye for editorial angles, the Senior Manager, Content Strategy can identify opportunities for content across the business, pitch them with ease, and influence the outcome of the conversation to keep the brand and customer at the forefront of every project. Additionally, they will provide strategic guidance and feedback on marketing copywriting, ensuring that all copy is optimized for audience engagement, voice and tone consistency, and SEO.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field.

Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, with at least 2 years leading a team.

Proven experience in developing content and campaigns that drive engagement and revenue growth, across both owned platforms and advertising.

Excellent strategic planning, writing, editing, presentation, and communication skills.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze data and use insights to create or optimize content strategy and tactics.

Advanced understanding of the marketing funnel, including the ability to develop and implement strategies that effectively guide potential customers through each stage, from awareness to conversion.

Strong familiarity with content across YouTube, Pinterest, META, email, website, OOH, print, and in-store experience.

Ability to provide strategic guidance and feedback on marketing copywriting, with a strong focus on understanding the target audience, maintaining a consistent voice and tone, optimizing content for SEO, and tailoring content to the specific channel.

An eye for relevant content topics in relation to brand awareness, consideration, and conversion.

Organizational skills to develop complex and multifaceted projects over extended timelines.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

Keen eye for detail and highly creative.

Experience in the retail industry is strongly preferred.

Interest and awareness of current home and interior design trends preferred. Some B2B experience preferred.
Essential Functions

Devise and manage B2B and B2C omnichannel content strategies that align with company initiative, brand, and product goals. These strategies are then turned into creative marketing assets specific to audience, channel, and purchasing position, ultimately driving sales of our products.

Work with cross-functional partners to bring content strategies to life and ensure a consistent omnichannel experience for our customers.

Map out content strategies that support and extend marketing initiatives, both short- and long-term, determining which methods work for the brand.

Build and maintain strong relationships with team members and cross-functional partners, becoming the known subject matter expert in content and copy strategy. Provide valuable insights and guidance to drive marketing and business initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

Keep direct reports and cross-functional partners up to date on marketing and business initiatives as well as content stories. Ensure content adaptation for specific channels, maintaining consistency and relevance across all platforms.

Oversee and manage team associates, guiding and supporting them so that they can reach their business and professional development goals.

Measure and analyze the performance of content and campaigns and utilize data to inform strategy.

Ensure the final deliverables align with content strategy or make recommendations on how to shift content strategy based on subject matter expertise and best practices.

Oversee the content repurposing and audit ongoing strategies to ensure we are making our content work harder for us and meet the needs of our customers.

Keep up with industry best practices and monitor the competitor landscape and audience behavior to inform strategy optimization.

Manage content budget including planning and forecasting.

Maintain a continuous improvement and evolution mindset, revising content whenever deemed necessary by self or via leader recommendation.
