A Brief Summary of This Position:
The Senior Manager Compensation develops and implements comprehensive compensation structure and programs aligned with business goals, market trends, and legal compliance. Key responsibilities include leading the Global Pay Transparency initiative across the countries in which Valmont conducts business. This role is also responsible for designing strategic pay structures, organization-wide job evaluation, survey submission, managing the annual compensation cycles, conducting market and pay equity analyses, and ensuring adherence to other regulations. This position supports the development of tools and resources, education and communication to support the organization with compensation. This position reports to the Director of Total Rewards.
Essential Functions:
Leads the Global Pay Transparency initiative to ensure the organization’s compliance within countries where Valmont, Inc. conducts business through partnership with the Global HR team.
Manages the development and implementation of global compensation strategies and structures, policies, programs, and processes, including base pay structures, incentive, and annual salary review processes.
Manages the pay for performance global process, coordinating with internal stakeholders.
Evaluates Valmont’s jobs, leveraging the Compensation’s standardized evaluation process and develops, maintains and tracks job descriptions for the organization through partnership with the broader HR organization.
Researches and conducts on-going regulation analysis to ensure compliance with compensation related country mandates and maintains knowledge, communication, and compliance of global trends in compensation.
Leads change management efforts related to compensation programs, including communication planning, stakeholder engagement, and training.
Drives continuous improvement by evaluating the effectiveness of compensation programs and recommending enhancements based on data insights and business feedback.
Reviews internal pay equity and external competitiveness, providing insights and recommendations to support talent strategies.
Submits company participation in appropriate compensation surveys, studies, and various market analysis projects to ensure competitive job pricing.
Collaborates internally to review and evaluate new and existing job descriptions for placement in range and market pricing to determine grade assignment, internal job equity analysis, recruitment and retention initiatives and alignment of the job with the company’s global compensation structure.
Works with large amounts of data to build tools, reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the integrity and validity of the data reported.
Ensure compensation processes and practices are maintained within Valmont’s HRIS system
Develops tools, resources and education to support the broader HR organization with compensation philosophy and practices
This position reports directly to the Director Total Rewards and may have one or more direct reports, depending on team structure and business needs.
Required Qualifications of Every Candidate:
Preferred Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years experience or Associates Degree with 9+ years of experience or 11+ years experience
Compensation experience, setting company structure, evaluating jobs, analyzing data.
Working knowledge of job evaluation, grading positions, survey submission
Track record for being detail-oriented, accountable, self-motivated to follow through on projects with accuracy.
Experience with advanced formulas, pivot tables, data manipulation and functions in Excel
Experience with an enterprise Human Capital Management system, such as Workday
Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business
Global compensation experience or certification
CCP and/or PHR Certification
Global compensation experience
Compensation experience in a manufacturing environment
Skilled with Alteryx, Power BI and other technology solutions
Bilingual
