Job Summary
This position that will report into the Senior Director, Compensation & Talent Acquisition has been designed to lead and provide subject matter expertise to assigned business segments in support of the company’s compensation & rewards programs, including but not limited to: compensation administration, mid-year and annual rewards cycles, salary survey management, recognition awards and ad-hoc strategic initiatives to support Otsuka’s full suite of rewards offerings.
This individual will strive to drive a successful compensation program across Otsuka by providing operational excellence, key insights and recommendations, program leadership and timely execution.
Job Description
For assigned business segments, lead compensation analysis including analyzing internal and external job data and providing recommendations on levels, appropriate salary grades and variable pay targets for new roles, new hire offers and promotions, as well as special compensation issues
Provide consultation to HR business partners and business leaders on all matters compensation to drive alignment with Otsuka’s compensation philosophy and programs
Partner with HR functions (Talent Acquisition, HRIS, People Operations) to consistently improve processes that will increase the manager and employee experience
Support and lead annual review processes, including merit/bonus planning and long-term incentive review process
Lead salary survey process, including survey submissions and survey data analysis and updates
Perform ad-hoc analysis and support in support of the Otsuka’s needs. Examples include merger & acquisitions, affiliate integrations, reorganization of teams, etc.
Maintain recognition programs for assigned business and support overall recognition philosophy at Otsuka
Participate in the design, development and implementation of communication materials to effectively educate employees and managers on compensation programs
Stay abreast of best practices in compensation; leverage key insights to develop thoughtful recommendations for enhancement and improvement of compensation and rewards programs
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Ability to conduct market and pay research, analyze compensation information and data and present findings in a concise format
Significant experience administering compensation and participating in annual processes (i.e. Merit planning)
Excellent Excel skills, including vlookups and pivot tables (and experience with Word and PowerPoint).
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally throughout all levels of the organization
Ability to take initiative, be accountable for individual and team results, and motivated to set and achieve high performance standards
Ability to prioritize project deadlines together with day-to-day requirements while maintaining work product excellence and high-levels of customer service
Demonstrates outstanding judgement and decision making
Solid attention to detail including ability to anticipate data-related questions
Great teammate with ability to “flex” to different styles and work collaboratively with peers
Ability to handle sensitive information, maintain confidentiality and address sensitive situations in a constructive manner
Preferred
7+ years of experience in administering compensation and rewards programs
Experience with Workday and/or Marketpay
Experience supporting M&A activity and integrations
Professional Certification (CCP, PHR, SPHR, etc.)
Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Healthcare industry experience
