About your role
As Senior Manager/Associate Director – Financial Controller Singapore, you will support financial control, regulatory reporting, consolidation and capital management activities for our Singapore entities, including the regional holding company for Asia Pacific.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical expertise in Singapore regulatory requirements, financial reporting, consolidation accounting and capital management, combined with the ability to operate effectively within a matrix organisation.
The role will be responsible for key financial control activities, including close, statutory, regulatory and consolidation reporting, as well as supporting the production of Board reporting. It will also provide oversight across tax and broader control frameworks. A key focus will be driving efficiency, automation and continuous improvement across financial control activities.
Working closely with the Singapore business, including Business Heads and Compliance teams, the role will help support a cohesive and well-controlled Finance function.
Based in Dalian, the role will work closely with offshore teams and act as an important interface between Singapore and regional/global Finance teams, ensuring effective coordination and delivery across the broader Finance organisation.
The successful candidate will be a proactive, delivery-focused professional, capable of navigating complex regulatory and tax environments and building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Regulatory Reporting
- Lead financial close, year-end, consolidation and regulatory reporting processes, ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements for the Singapore entities
- Oversee statutory reporting and ensure alignment with IFRS and group reporting requirements
- Support external audit and regulatory interactions
- Lead preparation of consolidated financial information and Board reporting for the regional holding entity
Capital & Liquidity Management
- Monitor and manage regulatory capital and liquidity requirements in line with MAS expectations
- Ensure entities remain appropriately capitalised
- Provide clear reporting and insight to senior management and Boards
Operating Model & Transformation
- Drive efficiency, automation and process improvement across all financial control activities
- Leverage automation and digital tools to reduce manual processes and enhance control
- Support implementation of process and operating model improvements where appropriate
Technical Oversight & Controls
- Provide guidance on complex regulatory, accounting and financial control matters
- Ensure strong internal controls across all areas of financial control
- Maintain audit readiness and proactively manage risk
Tax
- Partner with Tax teams to ensure alignment between tax outputs and financial reporting
- Review and challenge tax outputs where appropriate
- Support tax-related queries and assess impacts on financial reporting, including matters relating to the regional holding structure
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with the local Singapore business teams, including the local senior management and compliance teams
- Collaborate closely with Dalian and India support teams to deliver financial control activities
- Serve as a key interface between Singapore and regional/global Finance teams, ensuring effective coordination
- Strong accountability for delivery from an offshore location
- Support coaching and development of junior team members where required
- Present to senior stakeholders and Boards
- Communicate complex matters clearly in English
About you
Key Skills & Experience
- Professional accounting qualification (CPA or equivalent) essential
- Financial control experience within a regulated environment, ideally with exposure to Singapore entities
- Strong knowledge of Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) requirements, including regulatory reporting obligations
- Alternatively, a strong track record of working within complex regulated environments
- Experience overseeing consolidation accounting and reporting, ideally within a regional or group structure
- Strong understanding of capital and liquidity frameworks
- Experience in managing and developing team members
- Technical expertise in IFRS and group reporting USGAAP, with experience in multi-entity environments
- Working knowledge of tax in a Singapore or regional context, with experience partnering with Tax teams
- Expereince in driving process improvement and automation initiatives
- Ability to act as a key interface between offshore delivery teams and local/regional stakeholders
- Hands-on, proactive and able to operate independently
- Excellent communication skills in English (essential)
- Ability to explain complex regulatory, accounting and financial matters clearly to senior stakeholders
- Strong execution focus with attention to detail
- Commercial mindset with a focus on efficiency and value-add
- High levels of ownership and accountability
