Ford's Central AI Team is the enterprise hub responsible for scaling AI and agentic solutions across the company. This role owns the training and enablement layer that turns a new AI capability into something employees can pick up, trust, and use every day.


In this position...

Ford is building a new capability at the center of our enterprise AI strategy. Reporting into the Central AI Team's Director of AI Strategy, Enablement, & Workflow, the Senior Manager, Learning & Development builds and owns the curriculum, materials, and learning journeys that teach Ford employees how to work with AI and agentic tools. This role partners closely with the Workflow Redesign Lead and with functional teams to ensure training lands at the right moment in a rollout, in the right format, for the right audience — from a frontline user learning a new tool to a leader deciding how to manage a team that now works alongside AI.

Based in Dearborn, MI, this is a hybrid position with a required four-day onsite presence each week 


Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Own AI training curriculum, enablement materials, and learning journeys across the AI initiative portfolio, building content for a range of roles and skill levels

  • Own training completion, proficiency, and adoption metrics feeding into Insight Generation's scorecard, and measure training effectiveness

  • Build communities of practice - networks of champions across functional teams who can reinforce training and answer day-to-day questions locally

  • Manage training and enablement agency and third-party resources, setting scope, pace, and quality bar for their output

  • Partner with HR and functional team leaders to fold AI enablement into existing onboarding, career development, and skills programs, without duplicating training infrastructure

  • Maintain a library of reusable training assets for new AI initiatives

Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience designing and delivering training or enablement programs at enterprise scale

  • 4+ years of direct experience building learning content for a new technology or tool rollout, with a track record of measurable adoption

  • 4+ years of strong instructional design skills, including breaking down a technical capability into a clear learning path for a non-technical audience

  • 3+ years of experience measuring training effectiveness through completion, adoption, or performance data, and iterating based on results

  • 2+ years of experience managing external agency, consulting, or vendor resources against scope, timeline, and quality deliverables.
  • 2+ years of experience working across a matrixed organization, partnering with teams that own their own local training needs

  • Master’s degree

  • Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or another large-scale enterprise organization with a distributed workforce

  • Background building champion or super-user networks to sustain adoption after initial training

  • Familiarity with how AI agents and automation work, enough to design training that reflects what the tool can realistically do

  • Experience partnering with HR on integrating new skills into broader career development or workforce planning programs

  • Experience building modular or reusable training content that can scale across multiple initiatives at once

This position is leadership level 5 and ranges from $141,700- 268,300. 

 Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
