Senior Manager, Accounting

Original X Productions (OGX) is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Manager of Accounting to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing our accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial reporting, and supporting the financial health and growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain monthly general ledger entries, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
• Perform monthly GL analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Review and monitor Divvy and all charge coding, ensuring proper categorization of expenses.
• Perform weekly revenue reconciliations to ensure accuracy in reporting, identifying discrepancies, and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain CAPEX schedules and manage depreciation processes, ensuring that all capital expenditures are tracked and depreciated correctly according to company policy.
• Oversee accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate collections.
• Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
• Work closely with the VP, FP&A on variance analysis to identify and explain differences between actuals and forecasts, providing actionable insights.
• Assist in the end-of-year financial close, tax preparation, and reporting processes. This includes preparing necessary documentation and collaborating with external auditors and tax advisors.
• Assist in various ad hoc projects as needed to support the finance team and company goals, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach.
• Prepare and distribute monthly P&L statements for review by management, ensuring they provide an accurate and timely snapshot of the company's financial performance.
• Manage the filing and remitting of end-of-year 1099 forms, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
• Track, file, and maintain state and local taxes to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• File and remit monthly foreign withholding taxes to the IRS and manage 1042 issuance, ensuring all international tax obligations are met.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting, preferably within the entertainment or production industry.
• Strong knowledge of ASC842, GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
•  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Preferred Entertainment industry experience
• Preferred strong corporate accountant experience

The salary range for this role considers a range of variables used in making compensation decisions and may include but is not limited to; experience, training, licenses, certifications, skills sets, business needs, travel. Compensation decisions are dependent on the unique variables that are present, a reasonable estimate of the current range is $100,000- $135,000. This range has not been adjusted based on the geographic location of the successful incumbent.
