Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Senior ML Engineer to help design and implement our next generation of machine learning and generative AI-based services. You will collaborate with an accomplished and motivated team of individuals to deliver high-impact solutions for our users and our business.
This is a hybrid position. Candidates considered for this role will be located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Job…
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of end-to-end machine learning solutions, including scalable training, inference, and evaluation pipelines that ensure reliability, reproducibility, observability, and seamless integration with production systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of high-impact machine learning projects and foster a culture of scientific inquiry and continuous learning.
- Identify and integrate emerging AI capabilities, including generative AI and LLM-based components, where they can meaningfully enhance ML systems.
- Support operational excellence by improving internal tooling, codifying best practices, and upholding standards for monitoring, evaluation, retraining, and quality assurance across the ML lifecycle.
- Employ a diverse set of tools and platforms, including Python, AWS, Databricks, Docker, Kubernetes, FastAPI, Terraform, Snowflake, and GitHub, to develop, deploy, and maintain scalable and robust machine learning systems.
You…
- 4+ years of hands-on experience applying machine learning techniques to real-world problems, with a strong track record of delivering production-grade models in areas such as prediction, recommendation, personalization, or fraud detection.
- Proven ability to design, implement, and own ML systems end-to-end from problem definition and scoping to modeling, deployment, evaluation, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance.
- Experience working with modern AI concepts and tooling including generative AI and large language models (LLMs), embeddings, retrieval, and prompt engineering.
- Strong understanding of data analysis, feature engineering, statistical modeling, and experimentation, with experience applying these methods to consumer, marketplace, or risk-related problems.
- Demonstrated ability to break down complex projects, drive cross-functional alignment, and communicate technical insights clearly to influence decision-making across diverse stakeholders.
- A sense of humor is optional but appreciated.
