We are seeking an exceptional Lead Engineer for GDA reporting to Director – Data, AI & Platform(GDA). You will be the organizational change leader and champion for insights, data, ML products developments that will form the foundation of the division’s digital evolution. You will evaluate and design cross-functional enterprise business processes and build products and partner with leaders across the team to execute new workflows. You will also partner with business & tech leaders to drive and execute effective change management strategies associated with business process and technology changes.

Job Overview:

As a Lead Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and implementing both machine learning models, platform and software systems that solve complex challenge. You will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and domain experts, to deliver innovative and scalable solutions.

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop end-to-end machine learning solutions, including data collection, preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and deployment.

- Design and implement software applications, libraries, and APIs that integrate machine learning components seamlessly.

- Collaborate with data scientists, key stakeholder to understand modelling requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code in languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar languages.

- Implement software engineering best practices, including version control, code reviews, and testing methodologies.

- Architect and optimize software systems for scalability, performance, and reliability.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of machine learning models into software products.

- Stay updated with the latest developments in machine learning and software engineering and apply them to improve our products.

- Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire technology stack, from data pipelines to user interfaces.

- Participate in brainstorming sessions, technical discussions, and contribute innovative ideas to drive continuous improvement.

- Mentor junior team members and actively share knowledge to foster a culture of learning and growth.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related field.

- Strong foundation in software engineering & machine learning concepts, algorithms, and techniques.

- 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Master's or Advanced Degree with specialization in Computer science, Information science, Statistics, Data Engineering and Analytics or relevant area.

- Strong & progressive experience working with Global teams & Fortune 500 companies leading large scale implementations of data warehouses and data engineering solutions.

- Strong understanding of development and implementation aspects of ML/AI, especially on billion-scale datasets. Ability to take small-scale developed models as input and implement with requisite configuration and customization, while maintaining model performance.

- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Golang ++, etc.) and experience with software development best practices.

- Hands-on experience with API frameworks like Springboot, or Fastapi etc.

- Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.

- Familiarity with software development methodologies, version control systems, and continuous integration pipelines.

- Ability to architect, design, and develop software applications that interact with machine learning models.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

- Demonstrated leadership ability to understand and leverage available technology while providing recommendations and insights into improvement opportunities.

- Strong communication, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate technical insights and recommendations with business customers and leadership team.

- Previous experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production systems is a plus.

- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
