WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We’re looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer who is passionate about enabling a novel digital twin platform. It is one of the key catalysts of innovations in Woven City. Though Woven City is a ‘living laboratory’, it would be better that inventors’ ideas can be tested in a virtual environment before trying in the real city. Our platform will accelerate their innovations by providing a city-scale testing environment for their ideas, services and products. The platform can be used to simulate and digitally reproduce various city activities such as residents daily life, traffic dynamics, energy consumption to name a few, which requires computation of complex interactions among agents and environment. Since the number of agents and necessary activities are open to future use, we have to build a resilient and scalable infrastructure to handle the demand as use grows. We are looking for someone who loves the vision of the digital twin platform, can lead the ML engineering related efforts, and provide strong technical guidance. This member will provide strategic direction, especially as it relates to training and serving ML models, and will be integral into the design and development of ML related systems and services needed to run, monitor, and scale the digital twin platform and supporting services.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop roadmap to enable platform to deliver AI solutions
- Develop pipelines and components to manage, monitor, and maintain the health of training pipelines, ML flows, model serving, and storage of artifacts
- Design and implement research and supporting infrastructure
- Evaluate models and algorithms
- Collaborate within and across teams to develop, document, and deliver best practices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field and 6+ years of work experience, 3+ years with PhD
- Professional experience in one or more languages, such as C++, Java, C#, Python
- Experience in developing MLOps processes
- Experience with Python using ML framework (e.g. pytorch, keras, etc.)
- Strong communication skills in English
NICE TO HAVES
- Deployed models for generative AI, video understanding, NLP, RL, Graphical models (e.g. GNN), or related capabilities in production environments
- Experience with big data platforms and stacks (e.g. Hadoop, Kafka, Spark)
- Extensive background in large-scale batch and/or stream processing
- Familiarity with modern Data Engineering tooling: ingestion, orchestration, transformation (e.g. Spark, DBT, Airflow)
- Familiarity with DevOps and/or DataOps best practices preferably in a cloud environment (e.g. AWS)
