POSITION SUMMARY
As a Senior Logistics Specialist, you will play a key operational role in managing warehouse operations, optimizing logistics workflows, and supporting transportation network performance. This role requires an autonomous and proactive individual who applies in depth logistics‑ knowledge and best practices to solve complex operational challenges within established frameworks.
You will independently oversee a range of logistics activities while working closely with third party logistics‑ providers (3PLs), forwarders, and internal teams to ensure reliable execution, KPI adherence, and regulatory compliance. Acting as a subject matter resource, you will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support seamless ‑day-to-day logistics‑ operations across the network.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Warehouse Operations & 3PL Execution
- Independently manage day-to-day warehouse operations (inbound, inventory, scrap, labeling/kitting, outbound, return‑ administration), ensuring operational efficiency, cost control, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor daily inbound and outbound shipment activities with 3PL partners and act as a primary point of contact for operational execution.
- Resolve systemic or complex 3PL operational issues in collaboration with cross functional stakeholders, escalating only when required‑.
Transportation & Network Optimization
- Execute transportation evaluations and network optimization activities in line with defined KPIs and business requirements.
- Handle complex transportation claims and escalations toward service, cost, and performance targets.
- Recommend improvements to existing logistics processes using established solutions and best practices.
Logistics Provider & Supplier Management
- Manage day-to-day operational relationships with regional and complex logistics‑ suppliers, forwarders, and 3PLs.
- Ensure supplier KPI accountability and performance tracking; actively drive Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and support Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Act as a knowledgeable resource for colleagues and stakeholders on supplier performance and operational topics.
Inventory, Compliance & SOX Activities
- Own inventory management activities, ensuring accuracy of inventory data and timely resolution of discrepancies.
- Lead execution and closure of audit findings, non‑conformances, and procedure updates related to inventory, PI, and logistics operations.
- Independently execute SOX control activities and support internal and external audits within defined policies and controls.
Scrap Management
- Oversee scrap management activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures while driving waste reduction within the operational scope.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify and lead continuous improvement opportunities across the logistics network, apply Lean/FBS principles to improve process efficiency, reduce cost, and minimize waste.
- Autonomously drive sustainable improvements using existing solutions and best practices, sharing knowledge and supporting less experienced‑ colleagues.
Business Support & Period End‑ Activities
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to improve service levels, maintain supply chain‑ efficiency, and support cost optimization initiatives.
- Support month end and ‑quarter end logistics‑ and inventory activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
YEARS OF RELATED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or warehouse operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS
- Business English preferred to support regional and cross functional‑ collaboration. Dutch is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in ERP System (SAP) / EDI Setup knowledge and Analytic Tools is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal guidance, while effectively collaborating as a member of cross functional‑ teams and committees.
- Demonstrated versatility and adaptability in fast-changing operational environments, with a proactive and ‑solution-oriented‑ mindset.
