Job Location: Krubong, Melaka, Malaysia
This position will be located at Krubong, Melaka in a vibrant industrial area. You will experience different exciting local cultures in this historical state.
What you will be doing:
- Prepare and process import and export customs declarations and ensure all shipping documentation is complete and accurate.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders to obtain quotations and arrange import and export shipments.
- Liaise with freight forwarders, courier services, transportation providers, and customs agents to ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delivery delays, customs clearance issues, or transportation problems.
- Track and update shipment records, delivery schedules, and logistics reports in the system.
- Verify shipping documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other required documents.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, import/export requirements, and company policies.
- Coordinate with warehouse, production, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure smooth material flow and on-time deliveries.
- Monitor inventory movement and perform inventory reconciliation and cycle counts when required.
- Maintain accurate logistics records and prepare monthly shipping, inventory, and logistics performance reports.
- Review freight invoices and shipping charges to ensure billing accuracy before payment processing.
- Assist in evaluating freight forwarders and logistics service providers based on cost, service quality, and delivery performance.
- Support annual stock take activities and inventory audits.
- Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, reduce transportation costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure timely completion of all incoming and outgoing material transactions.
- Maintain proper filing and record retention of shipping and customs documentation for audit purposes.
- Handle customer or internal inquiries related to shipment status, delivery schedules, and logistics issues.
- Support cross-functional projects and perform other logistics-related duties assigned by management.
What you will bring along:
- Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Logistics or related field.
- Knowledge of import/export procedures and Malaysian Customs regulations is an advantage.
- Experience in handling LMW (Licensed Manufacturing Warehouse) operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, shipping documentation, and international trade procedures.
- Knowledge of SAP systems and logistics software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Good negotiation and coordination skills when dealing with logistics providers.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
