Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, implementation, operation, and maintenance of complex information systems, including physical facility infrastructure, virtual devices, containerized devices and physical devices in traditional and hyper-converged architectures.
  • Responsible for high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers.
  • Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages. Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
  • Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
  • Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
  • Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
  • Plans and implements for the modernization of servers.
  • Develops, implements and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules.
  • Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
  • Support the design, documentation, and implementation of enhancements to the system, ensuring that application software, cybersecurity, and operational use cases are fully accounted for.
  • Ensure maximum system uptime and rapidly respond to hardware and software failures.
  • Quickly diagnoses operational, performance, or other issues and leads the implementation of resolutions.
  • Strong understanding of user account management processes and access control protocols.
  • Experience with Active Directory, LDAP, or similar directory services.
  • Familiarity with network security protocols and best practices.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with multi-factor authentication (MFA) and password management tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience or a Master’s Degree with 6+ years of experience. Additional experience maybe considered in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain at least a Secret security clearance.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ CE certification
  • Experience with Linux RHEL & Debian, Windows, AWS and Azure.
  • Installing OS (from iso, pxe, and kickstart) onto bare metal and virtualized platforms
  • Creating new customized kickstarts
  • Troubleshooting issues via cli and utilizing logs
  • Installing and removing custom software
  • Experience managing and maintaining PC, server, laptop, and printer hardware.
  • Experience maintaining and configuring local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)
  • Experience with Enterprise Virtualization (VMWare, Proxmox)
  • Self-starter that is able to work independently while possessing the communication skills to work effectively with engineering teams, customers, and senior leadership.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, NIST) affecting account management practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) for new technologies.
  • Experience with Windows 11, Windows Server 2019, 2022 and 2025, RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu, Debian, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Windows Server Update Servers (WSUS), Splunk, Security Technical implementation Guides (STIGs), PowerShell, and Group Policies.
  • Experience with DNS/DHCP, IPAM (BlueCat), load balancers (F5), Authentication Systems (Clearpass).
  • Familiar with managing Cisco Layer 2 and 3 networking devices, including Cisco ISR routers, Cisco Catalyst 9k switches, and Dell OS10 switches.
  • Familiar with managing and configuring Dell iDRAC, VMWare ESXI, and VMWare VCenter.
  • Familiar with configuring system utilizing Python and Ansible.
  • Familiar with implementing DOD STIGs.
  • Experience with enterprise network management tools such as HPNA, SolarWinds, Cisco Smartnet, LiveAction, Splunk, or similar technologies with WAN/SDWAN/SDN system analysis and design documents.
  • Knowledge of ITIL Change & Configuration Management.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, (RHCE) Red Hat Certified Engineer, (RHCSA) Red Hat Certified System Administrator).

Pay Range:Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
