Fugro is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to support our business across the Asia Pacific region. In this role, you will act as a trusted legal partner to the business, providing practical, commercially focused advice across a broad range of legal and compliance matters. The role has a primary focus on commercial contracting, project execution support, and dispute management, while working closely with the Compliance function on related matters.

You will be part of Fugro’s global Legal & Compliance team, working closely with colleagues across regions to deliver practical, business-focused legal support aligned with our values and standards. You will also support the development of junior team members and coordinate external counsel where appropriate.

About the role:

• Partner with the business by providing legal support to business development, tendering, and project teams across the APAC region.

• Support contracting, negotiations, and claims management throughout the project lifecycle.

• Advise on disputes and manage external counsel where required.

• Advise on compliance matters and support the implementation of global compliance standards.

• Support governance and corporate housekeeping across the region in collaboration with Country Managers.

• Deliver legal and compliance training and contribute to strengthening legal awareness across the business.

• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance colleagues, Finance, HR, and operational teams across regions to ensure aligned and effective support.

About You:

• A degree in Law or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in an international or multinational environment.

• Strong experience in commercial contracting, project support, and dispute management.

• Experience with compliance matters including trade sanctions, data compliance and anti-bribery and corruption.

Skills and attributes:

• Strong commercial acumen and ability to provide pragmatic, business-oriented advice.

• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.

• Proven ability to influence and partner with stakeholders at multiple levels.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cultures and in a matrixed international organisation.

• High level of integrity, sound judgment, and accountability.

• Comfortable operating in a matrixed, international organisation.

You will report to the Regional Head of Legal APAC and be based in Singapore. The role requires close collaboration with stakeholders across the region and globally. You will operate in a fast-paced environment requiring a proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to balance legal risk with commercial priorities.
