Who are we looking for?

Our accomplished APAC Legal team is seeking an In-house Lawyer to cover a 12-month parental leave position. The successful applicant will support internal, multi-disciplinary clients, within a committed, dynamic and encouraging work environment.

As part of an engaged, collaborative, supportive yet fast-paced legal team, you will be involved in:

  • Reviewing, negotiating and drafting of a wide range of commercial contracts, including consultancy contracts in a range of contexts, such as design and construct, design only, alliancing and pure consultancy (or sub-consultancy) services for major infrastructure projects.
  • Providing advice on:
    • General legal issues that arise from day to day in a global consulting firm in the areas of contract law, commercial disputes and litigation management.
    • Legislative compliance, internal policies and some corporate governance matters.

What you will bring to the team:

  • PQE, with some experience gained from an in-house position.

  • Strong commercial contracting skills, ideally with exposure to infrastructure and defence clients/ projects. 

  • Experience in varied procurement formats, contract reviews and drafting of complex projects.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong team mindset.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience in a geographically dispersed team with a focus on complex engineering and/or design projects.
     

This is a 12-month parental leave with potential for the role to go permanent. The role can be based in either our Melbourne or Adelaide GHD office.
