GenesisCare now has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal professional to join our General Counsel team. Our team is dedicated to supporting GenesisCare Australia to deliver the best possible care and life outcomes to our patients with cancer.
This role will see you advise the business on broad variety of matters, including software and IT contracts, cyber risk management, FIRB and privacy considerations in respect of the handling of patient data and being a legal team leader on various projects that involve technology change management. No two days are the same. We are looking for someone who is passionate about healthcare, eager to learn, resilient, enjoys solving complex multi-disciplinary problems and finds a way to steer a project team to completion.
Reporting through to the General Counsel and Company Secretary – Australia, this full-time position is based at our head office in Alexandria, with flexible working conditions that allow work from home arrangements.
More specifically, you will:
- Review a number of different complex contractual arrangements, including complex software and technology supplier contracts
- Be the legal lead on various transformation initiatives that have a technology change management piece and require multi-disciplinary team coordination.
- Partner with the business to provide strategic and commercially focused advice on various legal issues, particularly in respect of FIRB, privacy, cyber security and technology issues.
- Develop deep relationships with key stakeholders, including Head of Procurement, Head of IT, Head of Cyber, Head of Business Insights, Head of Physics, Head of Planning, Finance and billing system specialists
- Uplift legal operations, including development of policies, procedures, tools, templates and educational resources for the General Counsel team and the business.
- Report to the board and executive committee issues on material projects and matters
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) at a minimum.
- Qualified to practice as an Australian Legal Practitioner.
- At least 6 years PQE
- Software & technology, privacy and corporate M&A experience will be areas of expertise that are highly valued.
- Recent experience at a large domestic entity in the life sciences or health services space will be an advantage.
- Positive attitude and an ability to work as a team player.
- Curiosity to understand the business.
