Clio seeks an experienced Senior Legal Counsel in Dublin to join our global Commercial Legal department supporting our growing EMEA operations. This role will serve as a critical partner to our Sales organization, providing expert legal guidance while enabling business growth across European markets.
Key Responsibilities
Act as primary legal advisor to EMEA Sales teams, delivering practical solutions to commercial and legal challenges
Lead negotiations for various commercial contracts including SaaS agreements, MSAs, DPAs, NDAs, consulting agreements, and SOWs
Spearhead negotiations for AI technology solutions, addressing complex issues related to data rights, algorithmic training, and IP ownership
Implement legal processes that balance risk management with business efficiency
Build strategic partnerships with Sales leadership to identify and overcome obstacles to growth
Engage with cross-functional legal and compliance teams to develop customer-focused solutions
Admitted to practice law at the Law Society of Ireland (dual qualification in England considered an advantage)
6-8 years of relevant legal experience in a corporate environment
Proven track record in independently managing commercial contract negotiations (SaaS industry experience highly valued)
Experience with AI technology contracting would be a valuable asset, though not required
Exceptional contract drafting capabilities with attention to detail
Comprehensive understanding of EU data protection regulations and privacy requirements
Ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable business guidance
Talent for building productive relationships with business stakeholders
Skill in balancing legal risk with commercial objectives
Capacity to articulate clear reasoning behind legal decisions to inquisitive teams
Comfort working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with evolving priorities
Strong digital communication skills across collaborative platforms
Proactive problem-solving approach with minimal supervision

The full salary range* for this role is €89,600 to €112,000 to €134,400 EUR.Please note salary bands may differ based on location and local currency. Additionally, benefit offerings may differ depending on the employee's location.*We aim to hire all candidates between the minimum and the midpoint of the full salary range. We reserve the midpoint to the maximum of the salary band for internal employees who demonstrate sustained high performance and impact at Clio. The final offer amount for this role will be dependent on individual experience and skillset of the candidate.
