Under the Payment & New Solution business line, Edenred Taiwan is the pioneer and leader of digital vouchers market in Taiwan, with a strong presence in both incentives & reward, and Employee Benefit segments.

In the last 3-5 years, Taiwan BU has experienced rapid growth. This growth has been marked by an increase in the number of verticals, diverse business models, increased business volumes & revenue, and a burgeoning workforce.

This rapid growth has introduced complexities that the incumbent must navigate. These include rapidly acquiring comprehensive knowledge of Edenred Taiwan's unique business models like third-party payment solutions, voucher programs, and digital payment platforms.

Moreover, the incumbent must adeptly prioritize a demanding workload, balancing high-volume contract reviews and negotiations with ensuring regulatory and Group compliance and providing day-to-day legal guidance across the organization. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines are essential for success in this role.

The ideal candidate will have a solutions-oriented mindset, strong cross-cultural competencies, and outstanding time management abilities to navigate this fast-paced environment while mitigating legal risks.

YOUR ROLE

The reporting structure as below:

• Direct reporting to Edenred Taiwan, General Manager
• Matrix reporting to Senior Regional Legal Manager located in Singapore.

The incumbent is responsible for:

• Review and advise on general commercial agreements for clients, merchants, suppliers and any other party as the company may have.
• Ensure the company operation is compliant with local regulations, including but not limited to voucher related regulations, payment regulations, anti-trust, AML, personal data protection and employment law,
• Participate in regional and/or global Legal and/or Data Protection meetings and coordinate with other regional counsels to ensure the Group’s policies, including but not limited to, personal data protection, AML, anti-trust, anti-fraud, ISO policies are implemented and followed to the extent permissible and applicable under local laws.
• Lead the projects related to legal, compliance, audit topics.
• Handle lawsuits, consumer complaints and law enforcement investigations on behalf of the company.
• Advise on general legal, regulatory and compliance matters with respect to ongoing business activities.
• Participate in business strategy making and support to achieve the business goals of the Company.
• Lead/support corporate secretary, public affairs and lobbying activities of the Company.
• Contract management and intellectual property management. 
• Ensure that appropriate tools (such as One Trust, Salesforce and Jira) are utitlised and updated as required in the performance of duties.
• Any other tasks assigned by the General Manager and/or the Senior Regional Legal Manager.

• Rapid learning curve to gain comprehensive knowledge of Edenred Taiwan’s unique business models, products and services such as third-party payment solutions, voucher programs, and digital payment platforms.
• Navigating cultural nuances and adapting communication style to effectively collaborate with management hailing from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, including our Indian leadership team.
• Exceptional prioritization and time management abilities to balance a demanding workload consisting of high-volume contract reviews, regulatory compliance initiatives, and daily operational legal matters.

YOUR PROFILE

Must have:

• Bachelor’s degree in law. Master’s degree is a plus.
• Qualified to practise law at least in Taiwan.  Qualified to practise law in other APAC jurisdictions is a plus. 
• Between 8-10 years working experience in both legal firm or as in-house legal counsel.
• Solid knowledge and experiences in payment and banking regulations, and/or IT Technology industry background.
• Ability to think strategically and implement ideas/initiatives tactically with high attention to details.
• Solid contract negotiating and drafting skills.
• Handling or coordinating dispute settlement, arbitration, and litigation.
• Experience with handling external legal firms and counsels.
