The SR Learning & Development Manager will direct all training development work and build a strategic roadmap focused on creating lasting, evolving programs that meet the business's needs and fuel a culture of learning.  In addition, this seasoned leader will apply learning methodology and be accountable for developing a deep understanding of the business to create training programs that evolve, develop, and drive the broader talent management strategy for the organization.  This creative, hands-on role will lead a small internal team.

Responsibilities: 

  • Facilitates planning and resource deployment for commercial sales training programs and other training programs as identified in partnership with sector leadership. 
  • Sets direction and manages the instructional design processes.
  • Builds and sustains lasting relationships with business leaders.
  • Conducts Training Needs Analysis to identify and prioritize company-learning needs.
  • Generates a deep understanding of business demands and facilitates partnerships that enable successful learning outcomes.
  • Builds and leads the team to establish and execute learning strategy that supports business and talent management priorities - from learning needs assessments through new program development, including contributions to program evaluation, and program sustainment or enhancement.
  • Identifies strong external vendors in the marketplace, establishes relationships with them, and deploys them as needed.
  • Effectively balances decisions based on critical factors (e.g., current workloads, budgets, capabilities).
  • Leverages best learning practices, standards, and processes to ensure that value is created through development and deployment of work products.
  • Has a proven track record of designing, developing, and implementing high impact learning solutions, using a variety of innovative approaches.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate learning solutions and train the trainer sessions as needed.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned. 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be authorized to work in the US.
  • Bachelor's degree required. 
  • A minimum of 8 years of L&D experience in roles responsible for courses for talent development
  • A minimum of 8 years facilitating and supporting learning programs for multiple functions within an organization. 

 

Desired Skills:

  • Experience and applied knowledge of instructional design and e-learning methodologies and tools.
  • Experience leading large, complex projects using standard project management practices and tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, communication, and consulting skills.
  • Ability to assess needs, influence, deliver and collaborate with all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Strategic, division-wide and systems thinking.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to deliver a well-thought-out strategy and accurate product/presentation.
  • Formal presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong work ethic and sense of personal responsibility for work outcomes.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Positive individual with high energy, executive-level presence and the ability to influence change and initiate actions that have strategic impact and drive a high-performance culture. 
  • Experience with program development that facilitates skill development in the areas of sales, negotiation, and a variety of commercial business focus areas. 
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly understand complex systems and processes and apply advanced critical thinking skills
  • Ability to set clear objectives and measures, monitor process, progress and results, clearly assign responsibility for tasks and decisions
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Organizational Development, Leadership, Adult Learning, or related field preferred
  • Experience with LMS administration and Articulate content design preferred.
