The Senior Learning Design Professional partners with business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), Enterprise AI product managers, and associates to design and develop learning solutions that strengthen technical AI capability and improve performance. You will create and scale practical learning experiences that help technical audiences build and apply the skills needed to support Enterprise AI priorities by leveraging performance consulting, adult learning theory, and instructional design best practices. You will translate capability needs into measurable learning objectives, relevant practice, and performance support while collaborating with SMEs and stakeholders across the organization.
This role is part of the Variable Staffing Pool (VSP), which pays at an hourly rate. VSP Humana associates work part to full time hours based on business need. VSPs are not eligible for associate bonuses and receive limited benefits, which are effective upon hire. The hours for this role are generally aligned based on the associate and business task at hand.
The Senior Learning Design Professional independently manages the design and development of learning solutions for assigned projects and initiatives. The role applies generative AI tools and emerging technologies to accelerate learning design, content creation, assessment development, and learner support.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design and develop engaging, learner-centered experiences that drive technical skill development and performance
- Conduct needs analyses and collaborate with stakeholders to identify capability and performance requirements
- Partner with subject matter experts to translate complex concepts into clear learning objectives and instructional materials, including storyboards, scripts, applied practice, assessments, performance support tools, digital learning experiences, and learner guides
- Develop scalable learning assets and reusable content frameworks that support Enterprise AI initiatives
- Ensure course materials remain accurate, current, and relevant as technologies and business needs evolve
- Track and analyze learning effectiveness through learner feedback, assessment results, proficiency gains, behavior change indicators, and job performance improvements, and recommends enhancements based on findings
- Provide guidance to facilitators and select appropriate learning technologies, collaborative tools, and delivery methods to support development and application
- Create high-quality multimedia learning assets, including videos, simulations, e-learning courses, job aids, and performance support materials
- Plan, organize, develop, and deliver curricula and programs to meet specific learning needs. This role may involve facilitating live and virtual sessions.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Learning and Performance, Adult Education or similar field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience designing and delivering learning solutions in a corporate environment, including e-learning modules and facilitated learning events
- 3+ years of facilitating engaging in-person and virtual learning experiences using diverse instructional techniques in a corporate environment
- Experience designing learning solutions that support technical skill development, emerging technologies, digital transformation, AI capabilities, or related upskilling initiatives
- Proven ability to communicate learning approaches, recommendations, and outcomes to stakeholders across functional and leadership levels
- Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and manage learning projects effectively, including timelines, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation
- Track record of successful training design, development and implementation experience using various methods (e.g., facilitated, cohort, rotational programs, e-learning) and software (e.g., Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar learning and content-authoring platforms)
- Experience managing courses in Cornerstone on Demand or a similar LMS
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, or a related field
- Experience leveraging generative AI tools to enhance learning design, content development, learning operations, or learner engagement, with a general understanding of Enterprise AI concepts and responsible AI practices
- Certification in instructional design tools or methodologies (e.g., ATD, CPTD, Kirkpatrick)
- Experience in IT, health care, or insurance environments
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.
