Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Strategy & Planning Consultant
In this role, you will:
Lead complex initiatives with broad impact and act as key participant in large scale planning
Provide principal level strategic consulting services to client organizations
Represent Wells Fargo on Industry boards and committees
Review and analyze complex larger-scale or longer-term challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors
Identify strategic business investments and alliance opportunities
Make decisions in complex situations that influence and lead the broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
Provide guidance to less experienced staff
Evaluate and approve process of identified opportunities
Collaborate strategically and consult with all levels to resolve issues and achieve goals
Partner with executive management across Wells Fargo to define the business strategy and create then execute corresponding business plans and initiative
Communicative strategy and related business plans to management
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Strategy and Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Minimum 12+ years of professional experience
Experience leading hypothesis-driven digital competitive and market analysis across banks, fintechs, and technology providers, particularly within commercial and institutional banking.
Strong understanding of how commercial and institutional banking products (e.g., payments, lending, liquidity, servicing, onboarding) are distributed, serviced, monetized, and digitized across the industry.
Demonstrated ability to analyze how competitors invest, build, partner, and position digital capabilities, and assess strategic implications for digital platforms and product strategy.
Deep domain knowledge of commercial and institutional banking products, client segments, operating models, and regulatory considerations.
Proven experience mapping end-to-end client journeys and identifying pain points across digital channels and servicing models.
Track record of translating external market and competitive signals into clear strategic options, trade-offs, and implications.
Experience influencing business, product, or investment decisions through fact-based perspectives that challenge assumptions and inform strategic direction.
Exposure to investment planning, roadmap prioritization, or build-versus-buy evaluations, supported by credible competitive context.
Demonstrated ability to work directly with senior leaders and executive stakeholders, presenting complex insights clearly and effectively.
Recognized as a trusted strategic thought partner in leadership discussions, strategy reviews, or executive working sessions.
