  • The role requires a highly experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / Platform Engineering Lead with strong expertise in Data Platform Operations, Data Warehousing, ETL Technologies, Reliability Engineering, Critical Incident Management, Production Support, Automation, and Enterprise Data Ecosystems. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical leadership capabilities with hands-on expertise in SQL Server, Oracle, Unix/Linux, Control-M, Informatica and enterprise data platforms, preferably with extensive experience in Banking and Financial Services environments.

Your key responsibilities

Digital & Technology Strategy

  • Create and drive technology transformation initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize platforms through cloud adoption, automation, and engineering best practices.
  • Act as a technology change agent promoting DevOps, SRE, and automation culture.
  • Apply industry-leading practices and emerging technology trends to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency.

Platform Stability & Reliability Engineering

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Lake environments.
  • Experience working with ETL and Data Integration platforms such as Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica IICS, or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong experience managing and troubleshooting Control-M scheduling, batch workflows, and production data processing activities.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL, Oracle Database, PL/SQL, T-SQL, data reconciliation, and performance optimization.
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting platforms such as Cognos and downstream reporting ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality controls, reconciliation frameworks, and data lineage.
  • Experience supporting Banking, Finance, Risk, Treasury, Asset Management, or Regulatory Reporting data platforms.

Data Platform Reliability & Engineering

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Mart, and Data Lake environments.
  • Experience working with ETL and Data Integration platforms such as Informatica PowerCenter, Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS), or equivalent technologies.
  • Strong experience managing and troubleshooting Control-M scheduling, batch workflows, and production data processing activities.
  • Hands-on experience with SQL, Oracle Database, PL/SQL development, query optimization, data reconciliation, and database performance tuning.
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting platforms such as Cognos and downstream reporting ecosystems.

  • Experience supporting Banking, Finance, Regulatory Reporting, Risk, Treasury, Capital Markets, or Asset Management data platforms.

  • Proactively identify bottlenecks, data quality issues, and platform risks impacting business operations.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering and Application teams to enhance data reliability and operational excellence.

ITIL, Incident & Service Management

  • Strong knowledge of ITIL Service Management processes including Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request, and Service Level Management.
  • Lead and coordinate Major Incident and production support activities.
  • Drive service restoration through effective stakeholder and technical team coordination.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Post Incident Reviews (PIR).
  • Identify recurring issues and implement preventive and corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous service improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to SLA, SLO, operational controls, and governance standards.

Automation & Operational Excellence

  • Design and implement automation solutions to eliminate repetitive operational tasks.
  • Develop self-healing solutions and automated remediation capabilities.
  • Build operational tooling to improve efficiency and platform reliability.
  • Enhance monitoring, alerting, and observability through intelligent automation.
  • Drive reduction of manual intervention and operational overhead through engineering-led automation initiatives.
  • Implement Blue-Green, Canary, and Zero-Downtime deployment strategies where applicable.

DevSecOps & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to banking regulatory, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Implement secure secrets management and configuration management practices.
  • Integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
  • Support vulnerability management and security remediation initiatives.
  • Ensure platform compliance with enterprise security standards and governance requirements.

Critical Thinking & Problem Solving

  • Demonstrate strong analytical and out-of-the-box thinking capabilities during complex production challenges.
  • Ability to rapidly assess business impact and formulate solution strategies during service disruptions.
  • Lead technical investigations involving multiple interconnected systems and dependencies.
  • Work effectively under pressure in high-severity incident scenarios.
  • Focus on sustainable solutions, resilience engineering, and long-term reliability improvements rather than temporary fixes.
  • Proactively identify risks and recommend engineering solutions to prevent future failures.

Your skills and experience

  • Banking and Financial Services domain experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Enterprise Data Warehousing and Data Management platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Cognos reporting solutions.
  • Exposure to Regulatory Reporting, Finance Data, Risk Data, Treasury Data, or Asset Management platforms.
  • Exposure to Data Engineering, Data Lake, Data Warehouse, or Big Data platforms.

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • 15+ years of overall IT experience preferably with strong exposure to Banking and Financial Services technology platforms.
  • 8+ years of experience supporting enterprise Data Platforms, Data Warehouses, Production Support, SRE, DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Reliability Engineering environments.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL, Oracle Database, PL/SQL, T-SQL, query optimization, performance tuning, and database troubleshooting.
  • Strong experience working within Unix/Linux production environments.
