As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Infrastructure Platform LOB, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Leads and mentors a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages professional growth and development, while aligning team goals with organizational objectives.
- Champions a customer-obsessed culture by ensuring that customer needs and feedback are at the forefront of decision-making processes, driving the development of solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
- Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture
- Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
- Possesses practical cloud native experience and exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to dissect complex technical challenges and develop innovative solutions that drive business success
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on enterprise application development concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Hands on experience on enterprise application development & maintenance.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Advanced in one or more programming language(s) (Java)
- Proven experience in full stack development, including expertise in microservice development using Spring framework, ensuring scalable and efficient application architecture.
- Strong skills in UI development, with a focus on creating intuitive and responsive user interfaces that enhance user experience.
- Proficient in database management and development, with the ability to design, implement, and optimize complex database systems.
- Demonstrated design and architecture skills, capable of creating robust and scalable software solutions that align with business objectives and technical requirements.
- Experience in production deployment, with a track record of successfully launching applications and resolving production bugs to maintain system stability and performance.
- Exhibits proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods while possessing comprehensive expertise in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle, ensuring efficient and streamlined software deployment processes from planning to maintenance.
- Possesses advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security, along with demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within technical disciplines such as cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and mobile technologies.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Hands on experience in enterprise application development and maintenance, with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects
- Demonstrates expert-level proficiency in Java and additional programming languages such as Python or JavaScript, along with experience in modern front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js, enabling versatile and cutting-edge application development.
- Possesses experience with advanced microservices architecture patterns and tools, such as service mesh and API gateways, as well as implementing and managing cloud-native applications on platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, enhancing system reliability, performance, scalability, and efficiency.
