The Role

About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Product Manager to join our SWIFT Payments team. This position will be a SWIFT product manager and act as product owner to define product outcomes and strategy, driving towards the end-state vision. This individual will act as SWIFT SME and work with product managers, Operations and Technology to deliver core SWIFT solutions across multiple partner businesses throughout the enterprise eco-system. Will have ownership over optimizing internal customer satisfaction, controlling costs, improving efficiency, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk.  They will collaborate with, coordinate, and support multiple business partners including: global product, sales, relationship management, marketing, foreign exchange, payment strategy, vendor management, technology, operations, customer care, implementation, compliance, risk, and legal. Our Global Payments & Liquidity, Product & Platform organization is dedicated to expanding core payments products and enhancing pricing discipline for deposits and fees with existing clients. In this role, you will:

  • Advise experienced leadership to develop or influence business plans, business requirements, direct product design and implementation for complex business and technical needs

  • Oversee overall product management and strategic focus for the most technical, complex, and diverse products and services

  • Lead the strategy and resolution of complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth understanding of potential synergies, opportunities companywide

  • Set the product vision, strategy and roadmap and maintain delivery backlog with delivery partners.

  • Deliver solutions that are long-term, large scale, and require consideration of global market dynamics, trends, regulatory impact, and risk management

  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions that are strategically focused for diverse product lines

  • Articulate product vision, define scope, prioritize backlog, establish goals, and provide direction for teams to design, develop, and deliver technology and processes for updating, upgrading technologies and vendor relationships

  • Engage with leaders, stakeholders, subject matter experts, scrum masters, project managers and delivery team companywide

  • Serve as an adept advisor to leadership

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 7+ years of Product Management, product development, strategic planning, process management, change delivery, or agile product owner experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

  • SWIFT messaging knowledge

Desired Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of advising and influencing senior leadership horizontally
  • Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization
  • 5+ years Knowledge and understanding of product management in banking or the financial services industry

  • ISO 20022 Transformation and Global Payments Innovation (gpi) is a big plus

  • Knowledge and understanding of project management in the financial services industry

  • Knowledge and understanding of audit, regulatory compliance, or risk management

  • Payment transformation & messaging experience (ACH, FedNow, MT-to-MX, SWIFT, CHIPS)

  • Expertise in PowerPoint and storytelling

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • 5+ years of experience with an international bank with knowledge of SWIFT, whether directly or indirectly through such products like US Dollar or multicurrency clearing and the correspondent banking business.

  • Ability to lead a cross-functional team of business partners and stakeholders to a common goal.

  • Experience in planning and development of new complex products, including leadership or sponsorship of the development process.

  • Familiarity with current initiatives in global banking, including knowledge of SWIFT gpi and ISO 20022.

  • Ability to drive product innovation based on evolving customer needs, technological evolution, and dynamic market conditions.

  • Proficient in the use of analytical tools such as spreadsheets and databases to conduct analyses
