Position : Senior Lead, Automation – Observability PlatformsRole Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Automation Engineer to drive automation, self-service, and platform engineering initiatives across the enterprise Observability ecosystem. This is a hands-on Individual Contributor role responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions that improve the scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency of observability platforms including Dynatrace, SCOM, OpenTelemetry, ServiceNow ITOM Event Management and associated monitoring technologies.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong software engineering and automation mindset with experience in platform integrations, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), API-driven solutions, DevOps practices, and observability automation. The role will focus on eliminating manual effort, accelerating onboarding, improving monitoring consistency, and enabling Observability-as-Code across the enterprise. Key ResponsibilitiesAutomation Engineering- Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for enterprise observability platforms.
- Build self-service capabilities for application onboarding, monitoring configuration, dashboard provisioning, and alert setup.
- Develop reusable automation frameworks and workflows to standardize monitoring deployment across applications and infrastructure.
- Drive adoption of Observability-as-Code practices across Dynatrace, SCOM, and ServiceNow ITOM & Event Management.
- Create automated provisioning and configuration solutions using APIs, infrastructure-as-code, and configuration management tools.
- Develop integrations between Dynatrace, SCOM, ServiceNow, CMDB, Azure DevOps, GitHub, cloud platforms, and enterprise tooling.
- Build automated event enrichment, correlation, routing, and remediation workflows.
- Design automation for monitoring onboarding, tagging, management zone creation, alert creation, and dashboard generation.
- Automate health checks, compliance validations, monitoring coverage assessments, and operational reporting.
- Support platform modernization initiatives through API-first engineering approaches.
- Integrate observability automation into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop deployment pipelines for monitoring configurations, dashboards, synthetic monitors, and alerting policies.
- Implement version control and code promotion strategies for monitoring assets.
- Support GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and other automation platforms.
- Develop automation leveraging Dynatrace Davis AI and ServiceNow capabilities.
- Create automated incident enrichment and response workflows.
- Implement automated root cause data collection and operational insights generation.
