The Opportunity
The Senior Lead Analyst - Security Administration is a hands-on technical role responsible for advanced user access management across Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Azure Active Directory environments. This position focuses on complex provisioning and de-provisioning tasks, troubleshooting escalations, and ensuring compliance with security and audit requirements. The Senior Lead Analyst serves as a subject matter expert (SME) for the team, providing mentorship and guidance to junior analysts while driving process improvements and automation initiatives. Unlike the Supervisor role, this position does not directly manage team members but acts as a technical lead and escalation point within the IAM function. This is an individual contributor role.
The Senior Lead Analyst will act as the technical lead and escalation point within the IAM Security Administration team, partnering closely with the Supervisor to ensure high-quality service delivery. Occasional after-hours work may be required for priority issues. This is a hybrid remote and office-based role in Sri Lanka, aligning with the local job requirement guidelines. US day shift: [SLST, 7:30 PM– 3:30 AM (Next day)]. Most work is performed Monday through Friday virtually using collaboration tools and video conferencing. Our team has occasional on-call support.
Responsibilities:
User Provisioning/De-provisioning: Executing advanced account lifecycle management across AD domains and applications, handling high-complexity or sensitive access requests
Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange Administration: Performing account management, permissions changes, mailbox provisioning, and group administration in on-premises and cloud environments
Troubleshooting & Escalation: Acting as the primary escalation point for complex access or system issues; partnering with IT teams to resolve high-impact problems
Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Providing technical guidance and training to junior analysts; contributing to peer reviews of work for accuracy and consistency
Compliance & Documentation: Ensuring adherence to SOX, security, and audit requirements; maintaining thorough records of changes and approvals
Scripting & Process Improvement: Developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts and recommending improvements to reduce manual workload
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
An advanced degree or relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent
8+ years of IT Security, IAM, or System Administration experience, with a focus on account and access management
Strong background in Active Directory, Exchange (on-prem & online), and Azure AD
Practical experience with PowerShell scripting
Experience working in compliance-driven environments
Prior experience in enterprise-scale IAM operations
Familiarity with ITIL processes and ServiceNow (or similar ticketing platforms)
Certifications in IAM, IT Audit, or GRC (e.g., CISA, CISM, SailPoint Certified)
Proven subject matter expertise in identity and access administration
Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and escalation handling skills
Must possess the ability to mentor and guide less experienced team members
