Senior Lead Accountant

Second Foundation is an international energy trading and asset management firm headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, with offices in Switzerland, Germany, Japan and the US. Our team of 400 professionals specializes in power trading, transforming complex data into market-leading trading strategies through advanced technology and sophisticated quantitative modelling. 

We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager responsible for overseeing accounting operations for our markets in Europe and Japan. In this role, you will coordinate and manage external accounting service providers and serve as the primary point of contact for local business stakeholders to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely financial processes in these jurisdictions. 

You will be part of Outsourced Accounting Team and report to Head of Outsourced Accounting.  

What you would work on?  

• Coordinate External Accounting Providers, manage relationships and workflows and oversee the quality and timeliness of deliverables, including monthly reporting, statutory financial statements, tax filings, and other compliance requirements. 
• Act as the primary finance point of contact for local teams, supporting day-to-day finance-related queries and facilitate clear communication between local teams, global finance, and external providers to ensure smooth financial operations 
• Oversee and review monthly closings prepared by external providers, ensuring timely and accurate reporting aligned with local and group requirements; reconcile key accounts and ensure alignment between statutory and management reporting. 
• Ensure compliance with local accounting, tax, and regulatory frameworks  
• Liaise with external auditors and manage audit processes in all relevant jurisdictions 
• Co-operate with external tax advisors on annual tax filings and other tax queries. 
• Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and maintain strong financial controls. 
• Maintain clear documentation of outsourced accounting and tax reporting 
• Partner with global finance, tax, legal, and operational teams to support business initiatives  
• Assist in the implementation of global finance projects with local market considerations. 
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, changes in accounting standards, and corporate regulations. 

What makes you a great candidate? 

• University degree in accounting or finance-related area. 
• 10 years of work experience in finance, preferably within an international group, experience with outsourcing is an advantage.. 
• In-depth understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. 
• Excellent communication skills.  
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and project management skills.  
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively, collaborate with diverse teams, and maintain a strong focus on timely and accurate delivery. 
• Experience from fast growing environment. 
• Fluency in Czech and English;
