About the roleWe are looking for a Senior KYC Analyst to join our KYC Operations team in Sydney.
Trust starts with knowing who our customers are. The KYC Operations team plays a critical role in protecting the integrity of the Stake platform while creating a seamless onboarding experience for customers. Their work helps ensure we meet our regulatory obligations, prevent financial crime and maintain the high standards of security and customer care our customers expect.
As a Senior KYC Analyst, you'll take ownership of complex identity verification, customer due diligence and onboarding matters across the customer lifecycle. You'll apply sound judgement to investigate exceptions, assess risk and make decisions that balance customer experience with strong risk controls.
This is a role with meaningful responsibility and visibility. You'll work closely with Compliance, Financial Crime and Customer Operations teams, helping improve processes, identify emerging risks and contribute to the continued evolution of Stake's customer onboarding and verification capabilities. We work hybrid spending 3 days in our beautiful, dog-friendly Sydney office.
What success looks likeWithin your first two years, you'll have:
- Become a trusted subject matter expert for KYC and customer onboarding, consistently delivering accurate, risk-based decisions across complex cases
- Maintained high standards of customer verification while helping create a fast, seamless onboarding experience for legitimate customers
- Strengthened customer due diligence and enhanced due diligence processes, improving both efficiency and risk management outcomes
- Built strong working relationships across Compliance, Financial Crime and Customer Operations, contributing to better investigation quality and decision-making
- Identified process improvements that reduce operational friction, improve turnaround times and strengthen control effectiveness
- Helped improve the quality, consistency and audit readiness of customer verification records and documentation
- Contributed to a strong culture of customer protection, compliance and operational excellence across the business
- Played an important role in supporting Stake's growth by helping ensure onboarding processes remain scalable, secure and customer-focused
- You have experience in KYC, AML, customer onboarding, financial crime operations or a related function within a regulated environment
- You have strong attention to detail and enjoy identifying inconsistencies, risks and unusual patterns that others may miss
- You apply sound judgement and can confidently assess complex situations while balancing customer experience and risk considerations
- You're highly organised and able to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
- You communicate clearly and professionally with both customers and internal stakeholders
- You take ownership of outcomes, enjoy solving problems and are motivated by continuous improvement
- Conducted Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) investigations
- Worked within fintech, investing, banking or other regulated financial services businesses
- Supported financial crime, AML or fraud prevention programs
- Contributed to onboarding process improvements, workflow automation or operational efficiency initiatives
- Worked with identity verification platforms or customer lifecycle management systems
