About the role
As a Senior Key Account Manager for the Japanese and SEA markets, you will be responsible for achieving commercial targets within your designated territory on our platform, with a particular focus on Watches and Jewellery. Your role will be pivotal in cultivating and optimizing the performance of existing sellers to maximize revenue for both the sellers and our platform. This role is fully remote, but we do ask that you're based in Japan to make sure we're in sync with the local market and time zone.
Growth management
- Identify existing sellers in your portfolio with a high growth potential matching the category ambitions and create a growth strategy to reach maximal results.
- Look for new business opportunities in your territory using insights from your seller portfolio.
- Move in sync with the Business Developer to nurture newly handed over sellers to continuously grow the territory.
Key Account Management
- Analyse and evaluate the KPIs of Top Sellers and implement actions to align their performance with category targets.
- Grow and retain an extensive book of business through upselling, relationship building and targeted communication by monitoring and analysing KPIs.
- Create, negotiate and roll out win-win commercial agreements between Top Sellers and Catawiki.
- Move in Sync with Category experts to bring the right kind of supply from our Top Seller base.
- Conduct regular business reviews with the Top Sellers in your portfolio.
- Team up with key internal stakeholders to provide our Top Sellers the best possible help and service to grow.
- Proactively suggest and follow up on opportunities for improvement to internal stakeholders.
- Keep track of activities and agreements in our CRM tool.
What you’ll bring
- Sales mindset demonstrated in achieving sales targets, minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience.
- Skilled networker with a talent for building and maintaining strong relationships with sellers.
- Exceptional negotiation abilities.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and capable of working independently.
- Passionate about the online industry, with personal experience in collecting or a deep understanding of seller perspectives.
- Holds a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a Commercial, Economics, or Sales-related field, combined with relevant sales experience.
- Proficient in utilizing Google tools (Sheets, Slides) and leveraging data effectively, aligning with our data-driven approach.
- Fluent in Japanese and English with excellent communication skills is a must.
- Experience with sales CRM tools like HubSpot is an advantage.
- Background in sales within the Watch and/or Jewellery industry in the Japanese market is a strong plus.

Our Offices and Way of Working
Our vibrant offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon are designed to inspire and connect. Most Catawikians are within commuting distance of one of our offices and enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid work model. This means we typically ask you to be in the office 2 out of 5 days, roughly 40% of your working time, to collaborate and connect with your colleagues. Of course, if the job description specifies that the role is 100% remote—such as for certain expert or sales positions—then that arrangement will apply.
