About the role
Catawiki Collectables is looking for an experienced Senior Key Account Manager to drive the Benelux market. This role will be based in Amsterdam working closely with the team lead and the rest of the sales team. The Senior Key Account Manager plays a pivotal role in driving GMV growth from the existing seller portfolio. As a senior member, you will not only handle key account management responsibilities but also bring sales expertise into the team and coach other account managers, providing guidance and support to help them improve their performance. You will support the team lead with leadership tasks such as preparing team standups, monitoring team performance, and leading/guiding the commercial activities of the team. The Senior Key Account Manager is an integral part of the Collectables Supercluster Sales team, reporting to the Team Lead and Sales Director.
Together with the team lead you will develop and deliver training programs for sellers/team members to improve their performance on the platform. You will conduct data analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and develop and implement strategies to capitalize on these insights. Utilizing CRM tools to manage seller interactions, tracking performance metrics, and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement in the seller portfolio will be key. You will negotiate commercial terms and manage contracts with key accounts to ensure mutually beneficial agreements and long-term partnerships.

As members of the Collectables Sales team, we play an essential role in shaping Catawiki's success. Each Account Manager is responsible for their territory and categories and makes sure to lead the strategy and success of the sellers. We use our knowledge to create plans that fit our area and drive Catawiki to grow to its next level. This means we know a lot about the market, and we use this information to make our strategies work. We work closely as a team, sharing learnings/success stories and coming up with new ideas. This helps us stay on top of what's happening in the collectables market. The Account Manager team is a group of passionate individuals who love what they do. We are on a mission to make Catawiki the ultimate destination for collectors and passionate enthusiasts to discover amazing items and for sellers to connect with buyers in the most exciting way possible.
What you’ll do
- Support the team lead: Help the team lead with leadership tasks such as preparing team standups, monitoring team performance, and leading/guiding the commercial activities of the team
- Support the team: Develop and deliver training for sellers/team members to improve their performance on the platform
- Seller Development: Develop deep knowledge of sellers' needs and educate them on fulfilling key performance indicators (KPIs) such as reserve price optimization and adherence to quality guidelines.
- Strategic Planning: Establish medium and long-term strategic growth plans for our assigned sellers, aligning closely with Category Managers and Sales Directors.
- Communication: Regularly present progress updates to senior Collectables management and peers, we ensure transparent communication on the performance of our accounts.
- Collaboration: Partner with experts to accelerate the growth of sellers, we accelerate profitable growth and foster lasting relationships with our sellers through various communication channels, including phone calls, face-to-face meetings, email, and participation in fairs.
- Leadership: Lead commercial strategies within your territory in collaboration with the experts. Set up sales meetings with experts and sellers and lead the conversations to produce meaningful action items that make an impact.
- Business Reviews: Conduct regular business reviews where commercial processes, main KPIs and data are explained and translated into actionable insights.
- Customer Experience: Educate sellers on driving a positive customer experience to buyers, ensuring a seamless transaction process.
- Innovation: Translate new opportunities into commercial actions that contribute to the continuous growth and success of Catawiki.
What you’ll bring
- 5-10 years of experience in sales/account management
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills regardless of channel (in person, phone, email, cross-team)
- Languages: Fluent in Dutch and English
- Expertise: Nurture strategic relationships with top sellers and demonstrate a deep understanding of the company and the sellers' needs.
- Strategic Perspective: Possess a strategic mindset to drive growth and excellence in the marketplace.
- Negotiation Skills: Skilled in negotiation to secure profitable deals and partnerships.
- Autonomy and Organisation: Work autonomously, demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
- Passion for Collectables: Display a genuine passion for collectables or perhaps have a collection yourself, allowing you to understand the language of our sellers.
- Travel: Open to regular travel to meet top sellers in Benelux.
- Location: Based in or close to Amsterdam.
- Tech Skills: Capable of using Google tools (sheet, slides) and analyzing and interpreting data; experience with HubSpot is a plus

Our offices and way of working
We have sensational offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Lisbon. Most of our employees are within commutable distance of one of our office locations and enjoy a hybrid work model. This means we expect you to be in the office 2 out of 5 days, roughly 40% of your working time, to collaborate and connect with each other. The exception is of course, if the job description specifically states that the role is 100% remote, as some experts and sales positions are.
