Senior KDB Data Engineer

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure. 

Accountabilities

• Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
• Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
• Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
• Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.

The estate is one of the largest across the street and you will get key insights on the design patterns being used. The challenge and opportunity areas, as we move to the world of containerization and cloud native products. Exploring Pykx, Data bricks, Snowflake integration with KX are some of the exciting projects in the pipeline.

To be successful as a Senior KDB Data Engineer you should have experience with:

• Excellent Q/KDB+ programming skills on Linux
• Development experience in front office and electronic trading systems
• Considerable knowledge of agile and SDLC processes
• Experience with Maven, Java, Git, Team City, Jira, and Confluence

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Considerable academic record with a numerate degree of 2:1 or higher- e.g., computer science, maths, physics, engineering
• Full-lifecycle development on at least 1 large commercial system, with ideal candidate focusing
• Significant development of large distributed KDB+ systems

This role is located in our New York, NY office.

Minimum Salary: $170,000

Maximum Salary: $227,000
