We’re seeking someone to join our team as a Senior Java Developer to work as part of the Structured Rates desk-facing squad with a focus on delivering and supporting technology solutions that enable traders to execute trades, manage risk and support highly detailed structured rates activities.

This is a Software Engineering position at Vice President level, which is part of the job family responsible for developing and maintaining software solutions that support business needs.

What you'll do in the role:
Partner closely with product leads across the technology organization to identify opportunities for enhancing existing platforms and future technology solutions
Contribute across the full software development lifecycle as a Senior Java developer, designing and building functionality for both new and existing risk management systems
Gather and evaluate business and technical requirements, while evaluating current systems and functionalities to drive continuous improvement
Ensure high-quality delivery through unit testing, regressions testing along and a considerable focus on continuous integration and deployment practices
Support production releases and provide ongoing post-deployment support in fast-paced, business-critical environment
Work with cutting-edge technologies and gain deep exposure to risk management systems within a leading global investment bank
Develop distributed systems leveraging distributed caches and grid-computing technologies
Collaborate closely with global teams across the interest Rates Derivative technology organization, as well as middleware and infrastructure teams, to deliver scalable and reliable solutions
What you'll bring to the role:
At least 6 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
Good understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, design patterns, and scalable application development
Proficiency in Java, including experience with standard APIs, collections, and multithreaded programming
Experience developing scalable distributed systems and working with technologies such as distributed caches and grid computing
Familiarity with modern development practices including unit testing, mocking frameworks and continuous integration pipelines
Exposure to Scala or willingness to learn Scala-based technologies is considered an advantage
Experience with frameworks and platforms such as Symphony, Akka, Coherence, Infinispan, Cassandra, or Hazelcast is beneficial
Knowledge of risk systems development, including valuation, risk calculations is highly valued
Experience with model libraries or pricing engines is a plus
Ample communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a global and highly collaborative environment
