The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Apps Dev Sr. Programmer Analyst
Treasury and FP&A Technology is seeking a highly accomplished and experienced Senior Java Development Programmer Analyst for development of the Loan Portfolio Mitigation Application (IRIS). The successful candidate will act as a senior developer, and work on the design, development, and implementation of sophisticated credit risk hedge decision systems. The selected candidate will be part of the development team and work with business analysts, business users and a group of seasoned technology professionals to deliver technology projects for the business.
Responsibilities:
- Own design and development of sub-components of the application.
- Design and develop scalable reusable/sharable capabilities with end-to-end vision.
- Mentor and guide a small team of highly talented Java developers.
- Maintain continuous awareness of business, technical, and infrastructure issues and act as a consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions.
- Own and be accountable for all development activities in the Java microservices ecosystem.
- Provide technical oversight across the application and support the development of the Loan Portfolio Mitigation Application (IRIS).
- Work closely with Business Analysts, Development and Quality Assurance teams for solutioning, delivering, and testing the new requirements.
- Track and share updates with senior technology leads and relevant stakeholders on the progress of deliverables every sprint.
- Assist developers in adopting developer’s manifesto and clear any technical, architectural and process related roadblocks.
- Work and communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders from varied backgrounds and levels.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in Information Technology.
- Experience and proven track record of design and development of enterprise-scale applications.
- Expert in Microservice and Java technologies (Java 17 and above) - Spring boot, Spring JPA, OpenShift ecosystem.
- Experience working on Oracle/MSSQL RDBMS, with hands on ability in writing and tuning complex SQL queries.
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of RESTful APIs.
- Experience working with Gen AI tools aiding development – Copilot, Claude, Devin, Cursor. Excellent ability to write efficient prompts.
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of Caching frameworks, Password/Secret Vaults, Logging framework (Kibana), and Scheduling Tools (AutoSys or equivalent).
- Solid understanding and working knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment processes and tools (Sonar, Harness, Tekton, Git).
- Expertise in various unit testing, integration testing and functional testing tools (Junit, Selenium).
- Working knowledge of Hadoop, Spark, Spark SQL, Hive, Cloudera, Streams processing using Kafka / RabbitMQ would be a huge plus.
- Java and Spring certification would be a huge plus.
- Working knowledge of frontend UI technologies - Angular/React would be a huge plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Very Confident, innovative, self-motivated, aggressive and results oriented.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Scrum) and working in Agile teams.
- Proficiency with Jira for backlog management, sprint planning, and delivery tracking at scale.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior management.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering - Computer Science, or equivalent.
