Building reusable rockets to empower science and exploration.
The Role

At Relativity Space, we have two audacious goals: to build the next great commercial launch company with Terran R and to become America's leading force in additive manufacturing innovation. Both contribute to our long-term vision of creating humanity’s industrial base on Mars, paving the way for interplanetary life to expand the possibilities of the human experience. This journey begins right here on Earth – where we design, build, and fly rockets to deliver customer payloads to orbit. Terran R, our medium-to-heavy lift reusable rocket, fulfills the growing demand for launch capacity, thanks to our iterative approach that accelerates design, testing, and development while minimizing costs. While our groundbreaking research and development in 3D printing pushes the boundaries of large-scale additive manufacturing.

Your journey with us is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to shape the future of aerospace technology, additive manufacturing, and the human experience alongside a community of passionate, creative individuals. Join us on this extraordinary journey, as we work together to transform our vision into reality.

About the Team:

The IT Department at Relativity Space designs, builds, and maintains the technology ecosystem that powers our organization—on the ground, in manufacturing, and at the launch pad. We ensure seamless infrastructure operations, optimize applications and collaboration tools, and provide secure, high-performance computing environments that support both business and engineering needs. Our team safeguards critical systems and data through proactive security measures, risk management, and compliance enforcement, ensuring mission readiness at every stage. We deploy and support engineering software and automation solutions that enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and drive innovation across design, production, testing, and launch operations. Reliable, high-speed network connectivity is at the core of our operations, enabling efficient communication and data transfer across sites, test stands, and mission-critical environments. With a focus on performance, security, and continuous improvement, we provide the foundation for scalable growth and technical excellence in aerospace innovation.

About the Role:

  • Oversee Linux and other critical IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Design and manage integrations, automation frameworks, scripted processes, and orchestration workflows, with a strong focus on Linux system management.
  • Lead technical and strategic initiatives for IT infrastructure, services, and resources, emphasizing Linux AD and cross-platform authentication integrations.
  • Collaborate closely with IT Services, Engineering Applications, Enterprise Applications, Cybersecurity, DevOps, and Networking teams, as well as key stakeholders across the organization.
  • Define and implement IT system management processes, automation strategies, and orchestration solutions to optimize operations.
  • Cross-train team members on system automation, Linux infrastructure best practices, and integration methodologies to drive efficiency and innovation.

About You:

  • Technical expertise in IT infrastructure, with a deep understanding of hardware, servers, virtualization, storage, services, and platforms—with a strong emphasis on Linux environments.
  • Management of Linux servers, Active Directory (including Linux AD integrations), domain policies, and configuration management, with a focus on Linux-first infrastructure strategies.
  • Strong experience and creativity with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.), with demonstrated success in facilitating integrations, data orchestration, migrations, and deployments.
  • Deep experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, etc.) and fundamentals of networking, particularly in hybrid and Linux-based cloud environments.
  • Experience building and managing enterprise-grade data management and storage solutions, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Experience drafting policies and building configurations to compliance and regulatory specifications, with a security-first mindset and a strong inclination toward cybersecurity best practices.

Nice to haves but not required:

  • Experience with ITAR-compliant infrastructure and “gov” tier cloud service providers.
  • Background in Identity and Access Management (IAM), including Active Directory integrations, HRIS systems, and access control solutions.
  • Experience managing open source hypervisors and enterprise storage systems
  • Startup and/or aerospace industry experience, with a strong understanding of high-growth, high-compliance environments.
