The Senior IT Support Specialist works independently to deliver advanced IT and Manufacturing IT (MFG IT) operational support, ensuring system availability, efficiency, and reliability while driving continuous improvement across services.
This role is based out of our office in Brisbane.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Operations & Advanced Troubleshooting
- Provide Tier 2/3 local and remote hardware, software, network, and server support across corporate and manufacturing locations.
- Diagnose and manage system compliance tools (Antivirus, Tanium, SOTI, Macrium, WSUS).
- Support server infrastructure, hosted applications, and lead remote teams during major incident resolutions.

Perform full device life cycle management: OS installation, provisioning, deployment, backup/recovery, and decommissioning.
Service Management & Governance
- Manage incidents and requests from initiation through closure, maintaining high customer satisfaction and SLA compliance.
- Enforce Cummins IT governance, security standards, and operational guidelines.

Author and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical knowledge base documentation.
Project Delivery & Vendor Management
- Serve as an active project team member executing IT service line deliverables using standard Project Management tools.
- Coordinate and supervise third-party vendors and contractors for onsite installations and hardware activities.

Travel to regional Cummins facilities on short notice for critical hands-on operational or project tasks.
Continuous Improvement
- Analyze support trends to drive root-cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Apply continuous improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma) to enhance service delivery efficiency and reduce operational costs.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Associate Degree, relevant industry training, or certifications preferred.
- ITIL knowledge or certification desirable.
- MCSE certification preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
- 5 Plus years of experience in a similar role

QualificationsExperience:
Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. 3-5 years of experience.
Effectively balances and transitions between multiple IT functions and shifting priorities to meet business needs and SLA commitments. Engages with customers to capture requirements, manage expectations, and prioritise work based on criticality and overall business impact.
Provide local and remote problem solving for Europe, incidents and requests, including equipment installation, decommissioning and life cycle management.
Operates effectively both when following instructions and when working autonomously, consistently executing high‑quality deliverables to meet business needs.
Have comprehensive understanding of operational technology used across all the IT functions (Networks, Servers, Computers, Printers, Telecoms) with advanced knowledge of Manufacturing IT.
Ensure governance and compliance of Cummins standards through the correct management and engagement of the IT environments, guiding customers to the correct tools and processes for IT request.
Project team member to execute various IT service line deliverables across multiple functions, utilising the defined Project Management tools and processes.
Manage onsite & external suppliers to complete installation activities ensuring adherence to Cummins standards.
Flexibility to travel to provide hands on troubleshooting for operational or project related activities which can be pre-planned or at short notice.
